Reports have emerged of thousands of Chinese steel workers rioting over a takeover deal.China National News

About 100 people were hurt in violence in a steel factory in the north-eastern city of Tonghua, after workers became frustrated over financial problems and the question of another steel mill, Jianlong Steel, buying out their company.
Jianlong general manager Chen Guojun was beaten to death during the riots when 30,000 steel workers clashed with riot police.
Mr Chen was attacked by workers who were aware of his status and wage packet, which amounted to about $440,000 last year; a large amount when compared to workers pay.
Mr Chen died as workers refused access to medical staff who attempted to enter the building to assist him.
