You're right, the subject/content is irrelevant, but what is markedly different is the dynamic that exists and how long the issue remains in the minds (and comments) of people, let alone how long the 'drama' is dragged-out
ok How about two guys refusing to talk to the each other because one bought a vehicle from the other that crapped out the tranny a couple months later?
Nah, sorry I don't swallow the extended grudge thing being particularly gender specific.
Seems to me that BOTH genders of BOTH families of the Hatfields and McCoys were quite willing to keep the feud going for quite a while.

Exactly! It's no different than someone who is a part of a minority group making a claim of discrimination or racism where none exists, aka pulling the "race card". It demeans those instances where true discrimination and racism exist and it contributes to the continued existence of it by discrediting the accomplishments, the instances where other members of the same group, have broken through.
gotta say I fully disagree. When discrimination exists it exists. Just because equality exists in one environment it can not then be said to exist in all. When a woman complains that she did not get the job because she is a woman you said it irritates you, but you do not in fact know that was not actually the case for her. You are in fact blaming the victim and there are still victims who are fully and equally educated and experienced who do not get the job based on sex, based on age, based on whatever the group wishes to exclude.

When you scratch the surface of those claims and you find more surface, you'd better believe that irritates the hell out of me. If there is merit to it, of course it doesn't. Of all the people that I've personally come across that have complained of discrimination based upon gender, I've not truly seen a case of true discrimination as yet. That is not to say that it does not exist, of course it does, just as racism exists. But just because they make the claim does not make it so. It has become too easy to claim discrimination or racism when in fact what it really amounts to is a difference of opinion.

You'd better believe if I come across a man who tosses out misogyny or chauvinism, I'd tear a strip up one side of him and down the other. But likewise if I come across a woman who falsely tosses those claims out, and I have in fact right here on this very forum, I'll also tear a strip off of her as well. And, in my opinion, the woman who is falsely making claims does far more damage to all women than any backwards thinking neanderthal man ever could.

Interpersonal issues? lol.

I thought you were talking about cycles sinking up and all that.

There's a difference between 'interpersonal issues' and what you originally said too.

That's what you got stuck on? OMG...... Even stupid old me knew that Karrie had her tongue firmly planted in her cheek when she made that analogy. As a matter of fact, I have used the "you on the rag bud?" comment more than once to a fellow MALE employee. They knew I was being figurative in my comment and didn't mean that I thought they actually had a tampon stuffed somewhere.

Okay we are going to have to agree to disagree. I really do not know how you could judge if a woman was making false claims unless you were inside of the company. As for doing far more damage to all women than any backwards thinking neaderthal man (in a position of power) I view that statement as naive in the extreme and frankly I still see the deck as stacked against us.

However I respect your opinion.

I think sexism and ageism and a whole host of other discrimination is real. I do not believe we are equal or viewed as such. There are still pay discrepancies and a myriad of other workplace practices that just shouldn't be.

Like I said earlier, this one is not my fight but I sure feel for them.

Really.

Irrelevant, but no, it doesn't happen any more frequently than it happens with females around here (or vice versa).

You sure seem like you were trying to feed us something. Either way, I think it's cool that you accept that you may be wrong.

No comment on the Hatfields and McCoys?

The content of the drama is irrelevant. Men and women simply have different issues to be dramatic about.

lol It's just the boys n girls being drama queens, Andem. :D

Like the Hatfields n McCoys? Hatfield

huh?

A local pastry chef had her products, homemade at the Oscars for whatever events-party etc I cannot recall - so she done good.

Cool.. Lotsa chicks installing faulty trannies and selling them to each other.

Sounds like a new reality TV show

Nope, just simple observation

No comment on the Hatfields and McCoys?

That's going back quite a ways, I really wouldn't know what to say.

How about the War of the Roses.. Maybe a parallel there?

So far, it seems to be page 5.

Who said they were "chicks"?

Nope, just simple observation
And I've made different observations that contradict this; "From what I have seen though, the degree and manner in which this dynamic is expressed is vastly different between the sexes and quite frankly, what I have seen of this dynamic with men, while possibly equally frequent, the event occurs, the bitching happens and then it's done... Time to move on.

The cycle seems to be a lot different with women and last a lot longer and go back aeons when necessary."

That's going back quite a ways, I really wouldn't know what to say.
Perhaps because it's an example showing BOTH men and women equally carrying something on well past sensibility.

How about the War of the Roses.. Maybe a parallel there?

What about it? Is there?
