Spain does not really have much of a chance for a couple of decades.
Their cut and running from Iraq immediately after the train bombings has fallout and consequences.

the consequences have been so far --positive
and will continue to be so
it was a big mistake to get involved to iraq
they have taken corrective action
more power to them
the US cant do annything substantial as reprisal
and anyway i dont think it wants to
spains economic destiny is linked to the european union and to a lesser extent --latin america--
not to the US-- or canada for that matter
