Yes in my world too. But there is a difference between spiritual wisdom and conventional wisdom. Even if you think intellectually that Jesus was very wise there's a difference between reading the bible and doing it. If you follow Jesus - actually do it - what do other people think?
Here's your answer from posts in this discussion:
rofl and if you rearrange the letters in Santa you get Satan. Spell "gods differently, you get "dogs". Big deal.![]()
Revelation 13:18 “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
It has been shown that the 666th name in the Bible is Solomon. Solomon was acclaimed for his great wisdom, which agrees with the quote in Revelation “Here is wisdom”. Additionally, Solomon used his wisdom to gain 666 talents of gold in one year (1 Kings 10:14). Solomon eventually turned away from God and provoked his anger.
Why is Solomon 666? The original sin was taking from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden. Eve wanted to become like God. Similarly, our quest for knowledge, science and technology have made us “all-knowing” but the result is that we have turned away from God. Why? All the products of our knowledge lead to new and more ingenious ways to sin. We idolise cars instead of following Jesus, we waste hours in front of the TV while half the world is left in poverty.
There are other tell-tale signs. For example, the first Apple computer went on sale for $666.66, a genuine “fruit” of the tree of knowledge. Isaac Newton had finished formulating the famous three Laws of Motion in 1666.
But what does this all mean for us? People aren't going to be abandoning their televisions, cinema and automobiles without very strong motivation. However, such concerns will become irrelevant when the events of the end times start. They will start with a tsunami on April 1st 2007 (All Fool's Day) affecting the East Coast of America. Since foolishness is the opposite of wisdom, it will be a day of anti-wisdom, anti-666 and destruction of the beast. It is therefore strongly recommended that people should leave the area before April. For more details, please see http://www.worldends.co.uk.
She may have proved that in an another translation of the Bible Saul (ie. Paul) takes position 616 - ie. number of the Beast. However, it is still the secondary number of the beast, 666 is the primary one.

Changing the subject for a moment...
I was driving in the early morning on Saturday night and there in the middle of my lane was a great big white owl, just sitting there.....cool huh?? Mean anything to you??
Yes, God definitely has a plan. I think the garden of Eden is the same as New Jerusalem - they will have the tree of knowledge, but they'll know what happened to us when we took from it. I've defined knowledge and wisdom on the website, and I've put it here:
The reason that Solomon (conventional wisdom and common sense) is the number of the beast is because it is in direct opposition to following Jesus.
- Spiritual wisdom (distinguishing good from evil) is not necessary for following Jesus – you only need to do what Jesus said (an ability to follow instructions).
- Spiritual wisdom is essential for identifying things that go contrary to what Jesus said, which are often difficult to identify. The letters of Paul are an example. Spiritual wisdom must therefore be good, despite the suggestion to the contrary in the story of Adam and Eve (where Eve gained the knowledge of good and evil).
- Conventional wisdom (similar to “common sense”) is quite different from spiritual wisdom. It is described well in Proverbs – wisdom brings wealth. This is the type of wisdom that Solomon had, since some of his sayings are in Proverbs.
- Knowledge is different from wisdom, but related to it. If you live in the world, then you can gain a lot of “common sense” type knowledge (science, mathematics etc.). You can know a lot of things, but still choose to follow Jesus. The negative consequences of knowledge are discussed below.
- Foolishness is the opposite of conventional wisdom, ie. that which defies common sense. If you follow Jesus, then you are seen to be foolish by modern society because your actions are not directed towards the acquisition of wealth (quite the opposite).
Knowledge is a derivative of conventional wisdom, and conventional wisdom is a derivative of knowledge. It is a kind of vicious cycle – when there was less knowledge, people accepted God much more readily than they do now.

Most people argue that technology, derived from our knowledge is neutral and can be used for either good or evil purposes. This is an extremely simplified and incorrect view. In Genesis, God warns us that taking from the tree of knowledge will lead to our destruction and being thrown out of the garden of Eden. Here are some of the things that have arisen from technology:
Computer games
TV
Cinema
Theme Parks
Holidays abroad
Medicine
Media and advertising
Consumerism
Global economy
Expensive and polluting personal transport
Many ways to waste money
The Internet (even though I'm using it for good)
Discoveries about space (we are so small, it is so big)
Science which claims to explain everything for you and actually doesn't (eg. it cannot explain consciousness).
These things all provide a means of idolatry – they take people away from God. The side effects of a modern society include political correctness (so no one says anything useful), religious tolerance (no one really tries to convert anyone to the correct faith), an appalling legal system and overwhelming inequality despite overwhelming wealth. Additionally, an increase in technology means that dangerous technologies are produced.

In this quote, you state what Solomon meant and go on to critique it, yet you, by your own admission, have not read his words...Where are you getting these ideas from??
