All I know is that my brother thinks highly of the country and people. They know how to run an island and unlike many others are actually delivering decent health care and acceptable housing. The place is clean in its neighbourhoods and the people have pride.

They are quite frugal people living as best they can under difficult circumstances, they also have 30,000 medical staff in other countries in the region. The days of Grenada are over.:smile:

I follow all the rules I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the communist party. You think he's going to fade into the ground, that could be but there are millions of others who won't and they like full bellys and eyeglasses. You're just pissed-off because you owe me money.:smile:

No you don't, regardless of your political leanings. I also said fade into the background (or at least that's what I meant) and quite frankly, I think he's dead. And, i don't owe you a cent, doll.

I have no real respect for Castro. Lots of doctors, BUT free mobility wasn't allowed.

30,000 doctors?? Oops, I mean medical staff. Whats the total population of Cuba?

Money isn't the end all, but man I despise Castro.

I've been thinking of those doctors too, I would get married again if she had the right doctor papers and had a stethoscope and a rectal thermometer, and could fix me when she broke me.haha:smile:

The problem with those photos of Cuba is reference.

You can't compare Cuba to a first world nation, it never was one.

It would be like going to Ethiopia and saying "Look how terrible it is since the Emporer was deposed!"
while ignoring the fact that it was just as bad with him in power.

So compare Cuba's hospitals and neighbourhoods to a Democratic neighbour.

How does Haiti, oldest democracy in the region, compare to Cuba?

``` Since Chavez came to power alot of people started leaving Venezuela.```
The Washington Post reports that a few hundred people have applied for visas to move to Spain. But there is no mass refugee problem unlike the mess Bush created in Iraq.
Far more people have left Central America where they have had fascist leaderships.
We are comparing socialism to capitalism not democracy to dictatorship. We know dictatorships can work. Look at Singapore. As far is if the comparison is fair
some would support what you say:
but then how do you explain the tremendous economic growth in china as a result of making the economy more of a capitalist economy. Besides how reliable are the statistics coming out of cuba?
