Snakes are cool. I disagree with this part, though; "Garters are harmless". They aren't particularly clean critters and if they bite, it's quite possible to develop some nasty effects.

Not to mention that on lino floors, or stairs, I bet stepping on one would be really dangerous.

Those ones don't smell so nice....unless you're a Husky, then they
smell wonderful!! So much so that you'd just wouldn't be able to
restrain yourself from rolling in it...repeatedly. Trust me on this.

Dogs often have a weird definition of "OMG, that's wonderful stuff!". Lol.

Yes they do! And rarely do they find the truly pungent stuff when you
can walk them home and scrub them down. The last long dead snake
the Husky found irresistible was about 10 miles from home. Ugh....

Where in this:

...do you stuff a Husky that you can't get within 25ft of without gagging, to get him home? Usually
rolling in a dead animal follows a swim in a scummy pond or too slow moving creek also.

Find a dead one and step on it. :D

It would have to be really fresh dead. The tensile strength of skin presumably changes with decomp, no?

Still better than rotten white fish ;)
