Allison Mack’s alleged former sex slaves ‘relieved’ by guilty plea

Allison Mack’s alleged former sex slaves are feeling a sense of relief after the Smallville actress pleaded guilty to racketeering charges, a source told RadarOnline.com.
Mack, 36, pleaded guilty to one count each of racketeering conspiracy and racketeering in Brooklyn Federal Court on Monday. Her guilty plea was a part of a deal she reportedly struck with the government in the high-profile NXIVM sex cult case.
As Radar readers know, Mack was initially charged with multiple counts of racketeering and sex trafficking. She was accused of being a “slave master” to slaves within an alleged inner sex ring of NXIVM known as “DOS.”
A source close to NXIVM told Radar that Mack’s alleged former slaves feel “an incredible relief as to the current events” of the case.
Mack’s guilty plea followed similar guilty confessions of mother-daughter defendants Nancy and Lauren Salzman.

NXIVM founder Keith Raniere, Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman and secretary Kathy Russell are the remaining co-defendants in the case.
The source added that some of Mack’s alleged ex slaves are also less distressed because the actress’s plea means “they may not have to testify.”
Mack currently faces a maximum prison sentence of 40 years. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 11, 2019.
Sources previously told Radar that Mack is “terrified” of going to prison.
The 36-year-old has been living under house arrest at her parents’ California home. The insider revealed that while the former actress is not yet in prison, she has been living “a nightmare and has gone through tremendous anxiety and fear.”

Former sex slaves and members of Keith Raniere’s inner circle are expected to point the finger at the self-help svengali when he goes on trial Tuesday.
Prosecutors say that many of the women have been flipped and will testify against their former love guru.
Raniere — founder of the NXIVM cult — has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of forming a secret society within his organization that forced women to have sex with him.
But the trial being held in New York City is expected to be laced with sordid stories of Raniere’s sexual antics, nude photos and blackmail.

A number of the women in the secret sex cult had Raniere’s initials branded on their bodies.

The cult enlisted billion-dollar heiresses, the Bronfman sisters along with former Smallville star Allison Mack (reputedly Raniere’s second-in-command and former lover) and an assortment of other starlets.
So far the feds have been tight-lipped about who is expected to testify against Raniere. They have asked a judge to keep their names secret.
Mack pleaded guilty last month there is speculation she’ll be the key witness.
The former Hollywood sweetheart’s life is in the dumpster and pals say she’s lost many of her friends and become a “shell of herself.”

Mack, 36, was dubbed a “slave master” responsible for grooming women to sleep with Raniere.
Raniere and Mack were known to be up all hours of the night grooming alleged slaves for sex with the leader.
Mack was accused of texting women in the middle of the night to schedule their meetings with Raniere.
She is scheduled to be sentenced in September. Mack faces a maximum of 40 years in prison.
“I believed Keith Raniere’s intentions were to help people, and I was wrong,” Mack told a Brooklyn judge, according to a report from The Associated Press.
Mack also said that after months of reflection since her arrest: “I know I can and will be a better person.”

SEX CULT: Ex-slave master had threesomes with Allison Mack, Svengali

Team slave. Sex cult insiders Lauren Salzman and Allison Mack had a slew of threesomes with Svengali Keith Raniere.
A former high-ranking member of the NXIVM sex cult revealed she had numerous threesomes with former Smallville star Allison Mack and love guru Keith Raniere.
Lauren Salzman — whose mother found the bizarre self-help cult with Raniere — testified at Raniere’s trial in Brooklyn.
She painted a grim picture of what life was like for those who were slaves.
The 42-year-old admitted she was one of the “masters” alongside Mack and that the women beneath them were subjected to a catalogue of horrors.

— Slaves were whipped with leather strops if they disobeyed, The New York Times reports.
— They were also forced to hold painful poses and stand barefoot in the snow.
— Females were ordered to take cold showers as punishment. A source said it was always loud in Mack’s apartment because someone was always showering, Radar reports.
Salzman testified that Mack, 36, likened the slave masters to “sister wives”. These women were devoted to Raniere and would at some point all raise his children together.

She claimed she and Mack had regular threesomes with the creepy cult leader. At the time, Mack was already Raniere’s regular playmate.
“Now not only do you have a master [Raniere], you have all of these sister wives,” Salzman said Mack told her while adding, “We’re going to raise our babies together.”
She added: “Allison was very excited that I joined.”
But there was one woman Raniere wouldn’t make one of his slaves or a slave master: Canadian booze heiress Clare Bronfman.

“Clare’s name was raised a bunch,” Salzman said, but Raniere said, “he wanted to keep that separate.”
However, he still had sex with the horse-loving heiress.
Raniere faces a total of seven charges including sexual exploitation of a child, sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Mack, Bronfman and Salzman will be sentenced later this year. All pleaded guilty.

A former member of the NXIVM master-slave sex cult came forth about her experience in a court testimony that alleges Dynasty star Catherine Oxenberg’s daughter was starved in attempt to help maintain her obedience.
The survivor, referred to as “Nicole,” said she bore witness to Smallville actress Allison Mack’s treatment of India Oxenberg, who was restricted to a 500 calorie per day diet.
She admitted the process “was just really hard to watch, sometimes, tough on her.”

(Drew Angerer/Getty Images)
As the New York Post reported, Nicole, 31, said India’s “starvation” was used to influence her behaviour and decisions on whether she should stay in the cult.
In the first instance, the 31-year ex-member said India, 28, who was also nicknamed “The Princess” was food deprived to make her, nicknamed “The Brat,” behave. In the latter example, she was told India’s lack of eating was a result of her desire to return home.
The first thing Allison said is “Look what this is doing to India, she hasn’t eaten since she got your email,”‘ Nicole said. According to her, India then responded, “Well, that’s not entirely true.”
As Nicole testified, she joined the sex-cult named DOS or The Vow under the pretense that it was a women-empowerment group.

Will Allison Mack testify against sex cult svengali Raniere?
Back in February 2016, she met with Mack, 36, at The Ace Hotel in Manhattan and confided in her about emotional and career troubles. She’d previously known her from “The Source,” an acting class she’d taken that was developed by Keith Raniere, 58, and led by Mack, the Courthouse News reported.
At the time, she had begun to view the idolization of Raniere as “just bulls—,” but was unaware that he led the group Mack encouraged her to join.
During her testimony, Nicole shared that she was forced to forge false statements detailing sexual abuse at the hands of her father and other men in her life. Her doubts grew following the allocation of three assignments.
The first task was to refrain from sexual intercourse with her her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Canadian actor Mark Hildreth.
She was also ordered to “reach out to” Raniere via Facebook, and “failed” at the final task, which was to practice celibacy for three months, after giving a “cute boy” her number.
When she began second guessing her decision to join the group, Mack informed her there was no way out.
“You can’t go back, it’s not an option. Like an arranged marriage,” Nicole said Mack wrote to her in an email.
Nicole is expected to continue her testimony on the stands.
Mack has pleaded guilty to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges stemming from her role in DOS, and Raniere has pleaded not guilty to counts of racketeering, sex trafficking, forced labor and conspiracy.

Tom Welling 'very surprised' by Smallville co-star Allison Mack's sex cult scandal
WENN - World Entertainment News Network
Published:
June 21, 2019
Updated:
June 21, 2019 9:30 AM EDT
Tom Welling was surprised to learn about his former pal and Smallville co-star Allison Mack’s involvement in a sex cult.
Mack originally pleaded not guilty after she was indicted with Keith Raniere, the alleged leader of a self-help program which encouraged women to become sex slaves.
According to prosecutors, the actress co-created an initiative, which recruited actors to the program – a secret part of Raniere’s self-help company NXIVM. Mack has since pleaded guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. She is due to be sentenced in September.
Welling played Mack’s best friend Clark Kent in hit U.S. TV show Smallville, and addressed the controversy as he spoke to another of his co-stars, Michael Rosenbaum, on his podcast Inside Of You.
“I didn’t know anything about it … I was very surprised to read anything about it,” Welling said. “It’s sounds very bizarre. Allison was always a nice person around me.
“It’s also funny that people think that we would know, or that we would have some perspective on it.”
Meanwhile Rosenbaum, who portrayed the villainous Lex Luthor in the show, admitted he can’t believe Mack would be capable of such a thing.
“And now, things have added up and … you’re sort of in the middle where you’re like, ‘Hey, I’ll always have love for Allison, but did this really happen?’” he mused. “I don’t know what to say, other than if it’s true, it’s a tragedy.”
Rosenbaum added he was aware Mack was part of “a self-help thing” when they were co-stars, although it’s not clear whether or not he’s referring to NXIVM.
“I remember one time, maybe it was Allison who asked me or something and she was just like, ‘Hey, you should try coming to it,’ and I was like, ‘No. I don’t know. It’s not for me’,” he said. “We’re all figuring out what the deal is.”

Allison Mack targeted sororities for sex cult NXIVM, lawsuit claims
WENN - World Entertainment News Network

January 31, 2020 12:10 PM EST
Former Smallville star Allison Mack is among those accused of targeting sororities in the latest lawsuit against sex cult NXIVM.
The 37-year-old actress was named as a defendant in the lawsuit, which accuses the previously billed self-help company of being a Ponzi scheme, as well as exploiting female members and illegally experimenting on humans.
Keith Raniere, who founded NXIVM, was included in the lawsuit, along with 11 other members.
According to legal papers, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, the defendants “exerted power over the plaintiffs; took their money; made it financially, physically and psychologically difficult, and in some cases impossible, to leave the coercive community; and systematically abused plaintiffs physically and emotionally.”
Responding to the lawsuit, Raniere’s lawyer said in a statement: “The recently filed civil suit shows that several of the plaintiffs who appeared as witnesses at the criminal trial were less than candid when they testified under oath they were not going to sue Raniere.
“Clearly, these people were motivated by money, a motivation the jury should have known. This will be one of several issues we will raise in court.”
Raniere, Mack and several other defendants were due to be sentenced on charges of their involvement in the cult earlier this month. However, Brooklyn Federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis cancelled the Jan. 17 sentencing and postponed it to a later date, which has yet to be determined, claiming that the report recommending a sentence for Raniere still isn’t ready.
Mack has pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy and racketeering in relation to her involvement in the NXIVM organization.

Embattled actress Allison Mack will learn her fate in her racketeering case in June.

The former Smallville star pleaded guilty to the charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit forced labour charges for her role in the controversial Nxivm cult two years ago, and she was originally set to be sentenced in September 2019.

However, the date was postponed to give New York authorities additional time for pre-sentencing investigations, and now it’s been set for June 30.

Smallville star turned sex cult “slave master” flipped on guru Keith Raniere by providing the feds with an audio recording of his discussing branding members, according to Variety.

Mack — who was at the centre of the NXIVM sex cult — cooperated with federal authorities in their sex probe of Raniere.

In a sentencing memo filed Monday, prosecutors asked Judge Nicholas Garaufis to give Mack, 38, a reduced sentence as reward for her cooperation.

“Although Mack could have provided even more substantial assistance had she made the decision to cooperate earlier, Mack provided significant, detailed and highly corroborated information which assisted the government in its prosecution,” prosecutors said in the memo obtained by Variety.

She is slated to be sentenced on June 30.

Mack pleaded guilty in April to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges that included extortion and forced labour. More serious sex trafficking charges were dropped.

Superman’s one-time pal admitted to being a major player in the cult’s super-secret DOS slave-master group. Some of the so-called sex slaves were branded like cattle with Raniere’s initials.

During his long reign as cult leader, followers were frequently blackmailed into having sex with him and others like Mack. The cult held onto highly-incriminating material, including raunchy photos and confessions.

But to save herself, she gave the feds the audiotape where Raniere used about branding the women.

“Do you think the person who’s being branded should be completely nude and sort of held to the table like a, sort of almost like a sacrifice?” Raniere asks in the recording.

“And the person should ask to be branded,” he adds. “Should say, ‘Please brand me, it would be an honour,’ or something like that. ‘An honour I want to wear for the rest of my life,’ I don’t know … And they should probably say that before they’re held down, so it doesn’t seem like they are being coerced.”

He is currently serving 120 years in federal prison.

In a New York courtroom on Wednesday, former Smallville star Allison Mack will finally hit the end of the line.

Next stop? Prison.

Mack, 38, packed with a bad case of the girl-next-door cutes, was the long-time queen bee and second banana in the NXIVM sex cult. She was an active, eager participant in the debauched hijinks that prayed on the wealthy and weak-minded.

At the top of the twisted pyramid was the craven sex guru Keith Raniere, who promised the women who flocked to him enlightenment and empowerment beyond their mortal desires, according to evidence at Raniere’s trial.

With Raniere, the mega-wealthy Clare Bronfman and others, Mack lured in starlets and rich kids, court heard. In one twisted ritual, the sex slaves were branded with Raniere’s initials.

He is now serving a life sentence for sex trafficking and other crimes. Bronfman was jailed for a little less than seven years.

That leaves Mack, who pleaded guilty in April 2019 to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges, including extortion and forced labour.

Sources say that Mack flipped to save herself.

Toronto criminal lawyer Monte MacGregor told The Toronto Sun he expects that Mack will be sentenced to less time than Bronfman.

“It will be interesting to see how heavy the judge hits her given the prosecutor’s apparently rare request for leniency,” MacGregor said.

“She assisted the Rainer prosecution and publicly apologized demonstrating how much remorse she had for her actions [unlike Bronfman who got six years and nine months]. ”

The noted lawyer said comparing sentences in Canada and the U.S. really is akin to comparing apples and oranges

“In the George Floyd case, for example, Officer Chauvin received 22 years for what was classified as an unintentional homicide — if that was deemed a manslaughter here, he would likely have only received a six- to eight-year custodial sentence,” MacGregor said.

“So for a notorious case of racketeering [organized crime-related activity with extortion and coercion] centring around human trafficking and sexual manipulation where the victims became slaves in a cult, it’s hard to determine the range.”

He added: “Rainier got 120 years as the leader, Bronfman gets just less than seven for being a key player and manipulator, so likely lower than seven but still enough real time in jail to deter and denounce the conduct.”

As the clock ticks, Mack — among sex Svengali Raniere’s most devoted disciples — appears resigned to the fact she’s going to the slammer.

And she is putting as much distance as she can between herself and anyone connected to NXIVM.

On Monday, Mack wrote in a letter filed in Brooklyn Federal Court: “It is now of paramount importance to me to say, from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry I threw myself into the teachings of Keith Raniere with everything I had.”

The whole affair was, in the words of the former sex kitten, “the biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life”.

She added: “I am sorry to those of you that I brought into NXIVM. I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man.”

But she certainly had a blast when things were swinging.

Before she got caught. Before she realized Keith Raniere was a low-rent charlatan

Before her image was pulverized into so much tawdry dust.

Mack, 38, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis in Brooklyn, after pleading guilty in 2019 to racketeering and conspiracy. She is expected to begin serving her sentence on Sept. 29.

Before being sentenced, Mack tearfully apologized to her victims and her family, saying her actions while in the group were “abusive, abhorrent and illegal.” She said she had completely renounced NXIVM leader Keith Raniere, who was sentenced to 120 years in prison last year for sex trafficking and other crimes.

“Coming out from under this delusion has been the most difficult experience of my life,” Mack said.

Former NXIVM members testified at Raniere’s trial that he established a secret sorority within the organization in which “slaves” pledged total obedience to “masters,” with Raniere at the top as “grand master.” Women were kept on starvation diets, branded with Raniere’s initials and in some cases coerced into sex with him.

Leaders of the group were said to use nude photos and other compromising materials to keep lower-ranking members in line. Mack, who was both a “slave” of Raniere and “master” of other women, admitted in her guilty plea that she coerced two women into doing unpaid work by threatening to release damaging information about them.

One victim, Jessica Joan, spoke at Wednesday’s sentencing, saying Mack emotionally manipulated her and eventually ordered her to “seduce” Raniere, with the promise that doing so would resolve her trauma from previous sexual abuse. Joan said she did not obey that order.

Joan called Mack “a predator and an evil human being” and said she was “cut from the same cloth” as Raniere.

Garaufis said that Mack had been an “essential accomplice” in Raniere’s “monstrous crimes,” rejecting her lawyers’ plea for a sentence of home confinement or probation.

However, the judge agreed with prosecutors that she deserved credit for cooperating against Raniere, warranting a sentence much lower than the 14 years called for by federal guidelines. He also said he believed her remorse was sincere.

“Smallville,” a television series that ran from 2001 to 2011, featured a young Clark Kent before he became famous as Superman. Mack played Chloe Sullivan, his close friend.

The Smallville star was sentenced to three years behind bars for her role in recruiting women to sex cult NXIVM, and had been due to report to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, on 29 September.

However, according to TMZ.com, Mack arrived at the facility on Monday to begin her sentence.

Mack helped prosecutors convict NXIVM’s leader Keith Raniere by handing over audio and emails, and he was sentenced to 120 years in prison on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and forced labour conspiracy last October.

The screen star recently said she has experienced “overwhelming shame” and called her time as part of the NXIVM cult “the biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life”.

“I am sorry to those of you that I brought into NXIVM,” she said in a pre-sentencing statement. “I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man. I am sorry that I encouraged you to use your resources to participate in something that was ultimately so ugly.”
