Site Downtime last night

Hey everyone,

We experienced downtime last night after a perfect month of 100% uptime, but thank god it wasn't on our end... unfortunately, the subnet that this server is on experienced technical difficulties and by the time I got home last night (actually still evening/daytime in Canada), the datacentre staff still didn't recognise it was on their end until I made a little bit of a fuss. Needless to say, they fixed the issue and we're up again.

Apologies for the downtime, it really couldn't have come at a worse time, since we've had a perfect month regarding bugs and quirks.

Amazing coincidence, I thought so too . . . that you had caused the problem.

No really, I thought it was probably our pyjama thread, figured the board couldn't stand the thought of so many nekkid bodies, so it crashed forthwith, in protest, and with a whimper and a bang.

And I thought it was because I was posting Moderator info in the wrong thread! ;-)

Nope, we're not a paranoid bunch! Scuse me while I go put on my tinfoil hat.

Thanks so much Haggis ... I feel way better now! ;) Perhaps we need to add something to our Mission Statment about posting in the correct threads?

For anyone who doesn't know, Haggis LOVES mission statements! The more the better!

  You wouldn't believe how many times I've posted something in the Mod room only to have my breath literally stop while it loads, wondering if I put it in the right place (you know, the private things like, "I've found out where Zoofer lives, now we can go ravish him." Hey, you never did get back to me about that, are we on for Ravishment of Zoof at 9?

AaaaAAAAAaaaaaAAAaaaAAAaack!!! Don't believe this lying Admin!!!!! It is a sad fact that Mission Statements cause a terrible allergic reaction in me, I can die from the things.

There is nothing - NOTHING - in the world as horrifically awful as a Mission Statement. My long abided-by adage is, there are people who do, and people who write Mission Statements about doing.

If anybody posts a Mission Statement, I'll ban 'em. Kidding . . . I won't be able to, because I'll be dead from anaphylactic shock, and then won't you all just be sorry as hell. 8O 8O

Aw Heck

I thought it was Haggis having some fun private time !!!

Exercising her moderator privileges....hee

I become Boss Mod and the board crashes, that IS a bit odd.

I did wander in while the lights were out, I was going to rearrange everybody's names with everybody else's names (you were going to be Zoofer's Child, by the way) but I couldn't see a damn thing in the dark. Besides, I stubbed my toe on the Maytag repair bag where Andem keeps the board spare parts.

every newborn latvian is given a personalized mission statement at birth indicating their ultimate purpose:
to be the best latvian they can possibly be
that when achieved is the best gift we can give latvia and the world, even if we end up immigrating to Canada

We're just going through a little bit of a slow down of server resources.. Actually past 24 hours have been hell! I'm actually doing a lot of compiling and upgrading and it sure does take a lot of time, and slows down the whole server. Ack!

I've gotta reboot right now but we'll be back soon.

Things have been pretty good speed wise etc around here for sometime now. Glitches happen....we will be OK.
