Uhm Ocean thats 2.5 years left

Still feels like a whol lot longer...belag :vomit: see little signature guy below

No it isn't. He leaves office on January 20th. 2009. Hello! 3.5 years.

oh dang. :!: You just ruined my brief euphoria

(sigh of resignation....

Well you can always hope for impeachment and getting booted out of office. It's happened before.

Well, the way things are shaping up , the likelihood of that happening seems slim and none. Seems "they" have far too much control and are prepared to do anything,: lie, misinform, distract ,spin , manipulate words , redefine words /meanings or whatever to maintain their facade and continue with their agenda.

(second sigh of resignation) :(

Yes. November of 2008. But the President doesn't take office until January 20th of 2009. And The Terminator can't run for Prez, he CAN'T BE BACK, I'm afraid

RE: Shuttle Discovery Bla

I don't think the "Terminator" would win anyways. Hell he would not win California if he ran for governor again. He is very low in the polls. Actually worse than the guy he replaced. He was only elected because he was an actor anyways. He has no clue how to run a government.

I wonder why the US has not modernized its space vehicles yet? Nevertheless nice to see Discovery up there. Actually America has not done much since the "alleged moon landing".

A) MONEY - its a hundred Billion dollar proposition, with ancilliary programs for support factored in.... it's much easier to dig a big hole in the Iraqi desert and bury the money.

B) TIME - although a stupid excuse, as it won't get better.... it's so monumental an undertaking, it leads nicely to C)

C) DIRECTION - NASA favours orbital stations, as they are pursuing now. Best bang for the buck, scientifically.
- BUSH (for some weird damn reason that must go back to his Frat days and playing with anonymous packets of white powder) wants to do a MANNED mission to MARS! Yeah, that would be a quick, easy trip!...
Finally, the MILITARY (and I have only a strong personal hunch here) is behind the faint, but growing talk about going back to the Moon.... WHAT FOR?, you ask???

WELL - if YOUR country has a base of ballistic weapons a quarter of a million miles above the Earth, I kinda think that puts the whole Poker Table in your hands - DON'T IT?
In fact, I bet I remember something a bit like that in Revelations... "Fire raining from the sky" or some such thing.....

Nasa investigates possible shuttle damage

I guess all the more reason to mahe a new more modern "space vehicle".

interesting. The difference this time is that they seem to have some contingency plans. (and a lot more cameras , observation techniques)

but agree, it is probably wiser to redesign the whole unit. .... and have to suppose that the money factor is playing into this. Hard to phathom , how much money a launch like this costs. (including payroll etc)

RE: Shuttle Discovery Bla

I think the shuttles are done for good now. They will now pretty well have to design a new vehicle, perhaps a second generation Shuttle even. I dunno but these Shuttles are finished, I would say.
