If conspiracy theorists are even patially correct, and 9-11 was allowed to happen, or brought about by the american government to justify the Iraq invasion, then why is no one (or perhaps I'm missing it), voicing concern over an impending terrorist attack to cement the invasion of Iran?

If nobody makes waves, and everyone who thinks the US was asleep are scoffed and ridiculed enough that the flagwavers have complete faith in being bulletproof again, then 9/11 - the sequel - can be a complete surprise to be taken advantage of - again.

The beauty of the ct's position is that they win either way.
They actually want us to get attacked, but if we don't they still win because they'll just drum up some other conspiracy as to why the attack didn't happen

From a conspirists point of view The Bush regime (or cheney, or whoever the bad guy(s) is/are) wants to be attacked to provide a reason to attack Iraq (and next Iran). The conspriracy goes that Bush planned (or at least wanted to be attacked) 911 for the profits from taking over the oil resources and mabey also from the contractors (military and civillian). In order for the citizens of the US to get behind the invasion of Iran an attack on the US is necessary.

Will another attack give the U.S. the "coalition of the willing" that they will need to invade Iran? Not too bloody likely. Anybody with half a brain, an ear, and an eye, can see that there aren't to many people pleased with the coalition's "willingness" to invade Iraq. That history should repeat itself in such a short period of time, and before the war in Iraq has even been brought to conclusion, is not terribly likely.
So to answer your questions, is the U.S. ready for another terrorist attack? They're as ready as they can ever be. Nothing will make them more ready, and nothing will avert the shock that Americans will express when the next attack does come.
Will the U.S. use the next terrorist attack as a launching pad for invading Iran? Not if the American people have anything to say about it. And with a Presidential election about a year away, I don't think you'll find too many Republicans cozying up with the "let's invade Iran" circus. You can pretty much bank on the fact that the Democrat's aren't looking to be starting any more wars.

Conspiracy.... Isn't that where a lot of folks get together, plot out an action, pay off the guards, act surprised, then have a huge story - completely full of detail right down to what the perps did the night before - ready by presstime just so you can get what you want?

My experience has been that there is very little plotting involved with conspiracies. For the most part, it's stumble along, make up whatever story will get you out of a jam at any particular moment, and do whatever you have to to get people to side with you.
There's a lot of finger crossing and praying going on to. You have to cross your fingers in the hope that no one will rat you out, and you have to pray that you don't screw up royally and get caught on dumb errors. No conspirator wants to headline Canada's Dumbest Criminals.
