Chinese officials have told U.S. President George W. Bush to stay out of other countries' affairs after he condemned Beijing's human rights record before heading to the Olympic Games.
Bush said he wasn't trying to antagonize China, but called for free press, free assembly and labour rights in China as the only path the U.S. rival can take to reach its full potential.
But China seemed irritated by the comments on the eve of the international sporting event.

Should the Olympic games be used as a forum to express political messages? Is it okay if it comes from politicians but not athletes?

Of course not. The Olympics are about the sports and the athletes taking part. Leave politics and the politicians at home.

It's supposed to be about the competitions. If they have to make it a political forun (which it has been since Munich, 1936) they may as well pull the plug. Did anyone realize the torch run from Athens is a legacy from Hitler's O?

The Olympics are a waste of time and reinforce antiquated notions of state and race; which is why there is always so much hyperbole and grand standing around them. "Look we are the better people, the better race, the better political system, we're nicer to our prisoners" "no we are" "we start fewer wars" "no we do" "we execute fewer children" "no you kill more."

It's retarded. I'm boycotting them.

Fine, watch reruns then.

If you saw the winter olympics a number of years ago and saw the Jamacian bobsled team compete, you would realize that there is something about the olympics worth warching.

I'll try and dumb it down ;-)

I'm not a con, a lib or anything else.

I don't sit a little box and never look outside like most do.

I'm still waiting for the decoding of your Lib speak.

See ... you need a translation for something said in English. However could you comprehend something translated from Iranian?

Uh huh.... you just confirmed my point.

Why was the Jamaican bobsled team so worth watching exactly?

No...now follow along.....I need the dear leader of Iran to say for himself in English that he does not want Isreal to be wiped off the face of the planet and while he's at it maybe he could explain why he thinks the holocaust is a myth. Perhaps he would if there weren't so many lefties like you defending him for some odd reason.

Well you obviously don't know anything about sport or team spirit. Considering they were from a country with no snow, the episode was moving. Anyway the olympics don't need you, go watch reruns....

As you know Risus the Olympics were introduced to the world by the Greeks in hope to unite countries in participating in the world best sports. Given the Chinese human rights record

I personally think that the Olympics would have been better in the hands of free and truly democratic countries, countries that respect humanity and all the rights that are called civil liberties. The current Chinese commy iron grip are mental and don’t deserve any RESPECT.

Sorry soc, I don't agree. If the original hope was to 'unite countries', well that should be given a chance, don't exclude countries because of their politics.

I totally agree with your comment , with only one exception, when a business, a person, or a country ends up with a bad credit history then the above are all excluded from credit powers, I don’t think in this case civil rights abuses can be any deferent from credit.

The Chinese iron grip is morally bank robed when it comes to civil rights respect and they deserve the same treatment…. Exclusion from the opportunity in classifying them self’s as credible, while telling the world lies only lies on how great they are, when in fact the truth is recorded with young blood apposing their dismal human rights record in the past 200 years.
