There's nothing like gasoline prices at well over $1 a litre to get people thinking about ways to save money at the pumps. Motorists hate it when gas prices rise and many refuse to believe that it's simply supply and demand at work.
It's almost a national sport — monitoring changes in the price of gas, hoping to time that fill-up to take advantage of the lowest available price. Most Canadians will drive an extra few blocks just to save a few tenths-of-a-cent per litre of gas.
We have compiled some gas saving tips (below) that you can read but we would like to hear how you save gas and still mange to drive. Share your best gas saving tips.

My 40 mile commute through Compton wouldn't be walkable unfortunately! LOL!

I drive a small car. I get twice the gas mileage as my friend's SUV.

yeah, drive for the necessary things tracy, but, most people drive for the stupidest things, the most insignificant distances. walk more! and most importantly, live in a neighborhood that's built so you can.

8Owhatever, but:

Do you think this could turn and bite the oily companies on the bum?

If

More people do walk, or carpool, or take a bus, or play Oriental and bicycle, use a motor-scooter, OR, the big one........Decide NOT to take the family on "the trip" this year.

Certainly could have a ripple effect, and put a bunch of folks out of work. Think tourist traps.

I'm sure the shieks and oil barons are losing sleep over societal costs of high oil.

Wait till there's no oil.

That's true. I live in a very walkable neighbourhood fortunately and the nice weather makes it a pleasure. A lot of my friends live in LA, which is NOT built for walking.

Expect very few US tourists in Canada this summer.

Oh I'm sure. The record profits for the oil companies this year were proof that these little changes are really sticking it to them. They're shaking in their golf cleats I tell ya.
