Cartagena, Colombia (CNN) -- Twelve Secret Service agents sent to Colombia ahead of President Barack Obama were relieved of duty and returned home amid allegations of misconduct that involved prostitution, the man who tipped news agencies to the investigation told CNN Saturday.

The incident in Cartagena -- one of two security issues that occurred Friday -- overshadowed the start of the sixth Summit of the Americas, where the president was to focus on trade, energy and regional security with 33 of the hemisphere's 35 leaders.

"One of the agents did not pay one of the prostitutes, and she complained to the police," said Ronald Kessler, a former Washington Post reporter and author of "In the President's Secret Service: Behind the Scenes With Agents in the Line of Fire and the Presidents They Protect."

That what she says.... Perhaps there was an issue relative to the nature of the 'services promised' as opposed to what was delivered.

Let this be a lesson to all those that think you can engage transactions without a contract.

I'm wondering what kind of sub-clauses would be included in that contract. 8O

Well SLM, since you're an accountant, I'll have to defer to your expertise on the subject.

Mind you, it would be a real hoot sitting 'round the ole negotiation table on that one.

A business man was interviewing applicants for the position of divisional manager. He devised a simple test to select the most suitable person for the job. He asked each applicant the question, "What is two and two?" The first interviewee was a journalist. His answer was "Twenty-two." The second was a social worker. She said, "I don't know the answer but I'm glad we had time to discuss this important question." The third applicant was an engineer. He pulled out a slide rule and showed the answer to be between 3.999 and 4.001. The next person was a lawyer. He stated that in the case of Jenkins v Commr of Stamp Duties (Qld), two and two was proven to be four. The last applicant was an accountant. The business man asked him, "How much is two and two?" The accountant got up from his chair, went over to the door and closed it then came back and sat down. He leaned across the desk and said in a low voice, "How much do you want it to be?" He got the job.
The moral of the story? Accountants. We know how to hide your sh!t. ;)

Some Agents Were Too Drunk To Sleep With Prostitutes

With eight Secret Service agents out of the agency in the wake of the Colombian prostitution scandal, some additional details are emerging about the night in Cartagena that cost several agents their jobs as well as previous behavior by Secret Service employees during foreign trips.

Some of the agents caught up in the Colombian prostitution scandal “have said there was no sexual activity because the men were so drunk that they fell asleep immediately after bringing the women to their rooms,” according to the Washington Post.

The paper also reports that members of Bill Clinton’s protective detail went to a strip club during his 2009 visit to Buenos Aires.

“Of course it has happened before” one agent not implicated in the Colombian prostitution scandal told the Post. “This is not the first time. It really only blew up in this case because the [U.S. Embassy] was alerted.”

Well at least if they were gonna get nailed for being with a hooker, they chose a good looking one! So many scandals involve hookers that are homely as mud fences...
