So if a yes vote goes through, independence will happen sometime in 2016? Crimea did that and joined a new country in less that 30 days.
I guess a vote to separate and have it never happen is the best the UK can do, no wonder the empire imploded, lol.

.

How many of those places can tell the UK tp go fuk itself when it want support for some illegal invasion of an helpless Nation. Canada certainly doesn't have the balls to.

You should vote against Scottish independence because somebody hit a blind man in the face. This is what British political discourse has come to.

People should vote against Scottish independence just so that the racist nationalist thugs don't get what they want (and because Scotland is better off suckling from England's generous teat).

The Scots Nats have been nothing short of disgraceful. They're thugs who intimidate and bully, even physically, anyone who disagrees with them, much like the Left as a whole do. Alex "Fat Boab" Salmond does nothing to stop this vile behaviour. In fact, he positively encourages it. If he wins this vote - which I'm almost certain he won't - he would have done so only through a campaign of lies to the Scottish people and the intimidiation of those who believe Scotland should stay within the UK. And, if Salmond gets his way and achieves an independent Scotland in a couple or so years' time, it will not be HIS children and grandchildren, and the children and grandchildren of Sturgeon, who will suffer. Because they don't have any families at all. It will be the children and grandchildren of the ordinary Scot who will suffer should Scotland become independent.

In fact, it's been noticed that so many of the SNP heirarchy, like the fishy duo Salmond and Sturgeon, do not have families. There is a theory which states that it is that reason why they see no problem in breaking up the UK family of nations which has been successful over 307 years - the most successful political union of all time. Having no families themselves, the SNP don't understand family ties.

For the sake of righteousness and decency, we'll have to pray the Scots Nats lose this vote. And then I'd love to see the looks on their faces and the faces of their leaders - Kim Jock Eck and Nicola "Wee Nippy" Sturgeon.

2 years to make the break after the vote says the whole thing is a farce to show that the UK had it's 'Arab Spring' and win or lose the transition just never gets done, how typically British.

You should hope for a brain.

So... how was it to see the English pols and the royals grovel to the Scots for weeks on end?

I hope for an English parliament. If Scotland can have one then so should England.

And they're not English politicians and royals. They're British politicians and royals. How can you have a PM and a Queen for a part of a country?

David Cameron is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Queen is the Monarch of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Now read, and take note.

Vote NO to upset the Scots Nats thugs! Thugs!

'Vote yes or else!': Salmond's bullies are accused of intimidating voters as police are put on alert at polling stations across Scotland

The message 'Vote Yes or else!' (left) was spotted at a polling station in a church hall in Balloch by Labour MSP for Dumbarton, Jackie Baillie. She condemned the tactics as 'shocking' as she urged voters not to give in to the attempts to 'threaten and intimidate', encouraging people to #voteno on Twitter. It comes as a Yes supporter was arrested by police in Clydebank this morning after allegedly assaulting a unionist trying to vote No, as nationalists mounted a last-minute bullying campaign to intimidate people into voting for independence. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a decisive vote against Separation. In the neighbourhood of 60%. Many people will tell pollsters that they support a Free Scotland.. because it fits into the Scots identity and myth.. William Wallace, Edward Longshanks (the Hammer of the Scots), the Battle of Culloden and the Scottish Clearances.. but when it comes down to it people will gain little and lose much from Separation.. and the Scots are known for their practicality when it comes to money. They are quite different than the Irish.

It seems like the Scottish referendum will be a NO vote, with some bookies already paying out on that. Although there is still room for a surprise YES win, of course.

After the vote, there will be more and more people in the UK's largest subdivision - England - demanding a devolved parliament, or parliaments for each English region, in the same way that Scotland was given her own Parliament in 1999 and Wales and Northern Ireland were each given their own Assemblies in the same year. Yet, scandalously, devolution for England back then never entered the minds of the Scots-dominated Labour Government and its Scots-born leader Tony Blair. So England, unlike Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, does not have any powers of her own, and is ruled solely by the British at Westminster.

My bet is that the Scots will vote NO tomorrow and will get Devo Max in 2015 - Home Rule within the UK. Scotland will therefore have the best of both worlds, having more control of her owns affairs but remaining in the UK family of nations with her closest allies - England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The English will then demand more powers of their own, so England will eventually get her own parliament, too, or each of her regions - the North West, South East, Yorkshire and the Humber, East, etc - will each get their own parliaments.

The UK will then become a federal state, with Scotland, Wales, NI and either England or her regions having some powers, but with ultimate power coming from the new federal government in London.

How England is currently divided into lots of different regions by the British Government. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland aren't vandalised to the same extent:

The City is becoming increasingly certain of a NO vote and final poll shows the NO side with a six point lead...

Pound hits two-year high on bet Scotland will vote No

The Telegraph
18 September 2014

The pound has a two-year high against the euro as markets increasingly bet that Scotland will vote in favour of remaining part of the United Kingdom.

Sterling reached 78.53p against the euro, the highest level since August 20, 2012. The currency also struck a two-week high against the dollar, at $1.6409, in afternoon trading in London.

"The pound's reaction clearly suggests investors are convinced that the Scots will vote to stay in the union," said Fawad Razaqzada, technical analyst at traders Forex.com.

"To what degree they will vote against being independent will determine the future direction of the pound. If it is a very tight No then we could see the pound lose some ground once the initial euphoria fades."

He told AFP: "On the other hand, a decisive No could send sterling skyrocketing. Needless to say, a Yes vote would almost certainly result in a massive drop."

The FTSE 100 index added 0.57pc to 6,819.29. Out of 12 Scotland-based stocks in the FTSE 350, only two closed down.

The pound last week slumped to a 10-month dollar low on fears over the impact of possible Scottish independence.

Scottish referendum: Alone, Scotland will go back to being a failed state

Yes supporters are hoping Scotland will become a Scandinavian paradise. But with its history of bitter internal divisions, it is likely to go the opposite way

That's, of course, if the Scots manage to breakaway. The mighty Westminster machine will keep chucking the kitchen sink at Scotland until the polls close in just under 3 hours' time to ensure that doesn't happen.

They will eventually....if not this time. Once the emotion is removed from the equation, independence makes perfect sense.

Thankfully, if the NO vote wins, Salmond has said there will be no Quebec-style Neverendum. He says he will accept the result and it may be another 30 years at least until another referendum comes along.

And I think all those millions of people around England, Wales and NI who are sick to their eye teeth over this silly, pointless charade and can't wait for it all to be all over because they are fed up of hearing people with Scottish accents arguing incoherently with each other live on TV, will be glad about that.

From Saturday onwards we can start concentrating on May's general election and put all this behind us.
