Let's all over react. Now you're claiming I have a problem with people from Ontario? So, you can't spell, and you can't understand written English as well? Your writing sucks, you don't understand grammar or punctuation, and you care about schools being "liberal"?

No wonder the world is in the state it's in, with your obvious lack of education. I don't know what the point of your original post was, but your communication and social skills are so lacking, it hardly matters.

By the way, in case any of you are wondering why I said that I found the schools in Ontario to be behind NB in the 70s, that's because when my family moved there, we all had to skip a grade to avoid repeating the same stuff we'd learned in NB. It was a simple statement of fact, not some oddly disguised way of saying I don't like people from Ontario.

Don't worry man. She already bugged out. So no further abuse is nessessary. Goof.

In the rest of Ontario we reserve that joke for Torontonians. They tend to think anything more than 20 km away is a backwater.
I had the lovely missfourtune to live in Mississauga for six years in the eighties.

I was simply replying to an ignorant post directed at me, I don't know or care if the original person is bugged out, buggered out, or buggered off. It was suggested that I somehow don't like Ontarians, so I thought I should respond.

Did you just call me a goof? Isn't that a direct personal insult? Isn't that against the rules?

I am very familiar with the public school system in Ontario: if you can afford it, go private.

I was going to say something similar. It's funny when someone starts a thread because they "heard" that Ontario schools are "liberal" and "not very good", implying that somehow Alberta is the fountain of good education, and yet that person defends poor spelling. So what makes Alberta schools so good - is it just because they "aren't liberal"? That's pathetic.

My only experience with Ontario schools was in 1970-72, and at that time, I found them to be behind New Brunswick.
Your post above.

The post you are offended by below.

youve completely misunderstood the thread,i never implied alberta was the best at education, but i was under the impression a forum was a place to ask questions .obviously you have a problem with people from ontario,do you have a problem with brits aswell?? weve been here a year or so and asked a simple question that recquired a simple ,polite answer.
not the cocky ,pig head arrogance you have shown.
theres no wonder the world is in the state its in with your foul attitude.
im so glad im not like you !!! <poste dby lilly>

Between you and tankar I think you must have a problem with someone asking a simple question. If spelling and grammer are that hellfire important to you I guess you should join Mensa. I would not miss your vile bile.

I forgot to stress your admited antiqueted and very limited experience with the topic you are professing on.
Oh ya!~ wtevr! ....

Vile? Oh, you are challenged by the language, aren't you? Your writing skills are right up there with what's-her-face. You slay me with your attempted insults. Go on, add more! Perhaps your teacher could help you with the big words.

I have no problem with someone asking a simple question, but if you don't think that the "liberal" comment was anything other than an ignorant dig on the part of a nut, then you need more schooling than you're receiving now.

Having been born and raised in Toronto, I can tell you that I never heard of, or had any clue about any concept of Toronto being the center of the universe until I moved away. You see, it's not Torontions who think Toronto is the center of the universe, it's those outside of Toronto who know it is.

He is from Ontario....need I say more.!
lol I noticed that, too.
We all should realize that everything Ontarian is perfect. :D

Um, were I a parent of school-aged kids these days, I'd be avoiding Canadian public schools in favor of home-ed or private schools. It's a matter of better education. Kids that have gone to private or were educated at home in BC (at least) are simply more learned than those of public schools.

I didn't realize overreact was two words in NB!

One good thing about Ontario schools is that they do require one to learn how to spell correctly. Judging from what you wrote, spelling is clearly not an issue in the Albertan school system.

About 20 years ago a not so brilliant Alberta educator decided that children should learn to spell phonetically. Spelling tests were abolished and children spelled words the way they sounded. Today, we have an entire generation of people that cannot spell. After that miserable failure, children once again have spelling tests so the next generation of children will be able to spell. Isn't that wonderful?

Here's one difference between Alberta schools and Ontario schools ... Alberta schools do not permit dogs on the premises under any circumstances but Ontario schools have dogs that enter the school to sniff out drugs. This would imply that Alberta schools are more liberal than Ontario schools. On the other hand, Alberta schools punt everyone once they turn 18 but Ontario lets people linger for the four year high school diploma ... or has that changed.
