Perhaps mixing third downs with the Third Reich in the first place wasn’t a good idea.
The headmaster of a high school in Connecticut has issued an apology that its football team used the designation “Hitler” for one of its plays.
During a recent game one mother in the stands, who had family members killed in the Holocaust, was shocked to hear players on the opposing team charging onto the field yelling “Hitler.” The play was called for with an index finger held to the upper lip, mimicing the vile dictator’s moustache.
Sources told the Connecticut Post the play has been referred to with that term for several years.
In its apology, the school said the practice has been stoppped.
Local selectman Drew Marzullo told the Connecticut Post it doesn’t matter if the play has been used “for two minutes or two years.”
“It represents a failure of some to impart the gravity that words such as this one represent evil and should never be spoken in jest on the ball field,” he said.

Political correctness gone mad.

I'm assuming this team, by doing what they were doing, were mocking Hitler rather than showing some sort of support for him. It's no different to sitcoms on TV mocking Hitler.

Some would say "zionism" represents evil (and hides behind the "H" word ALL the time), but that's an OK word to use anytime.
But then, as Shakespeare said: "Nothing is good or evil, only thinking makes it so."

It's all relative I suppose
