The North and South Poles should be "world historic sites" or something of that sort. Since they may be of mutual interst - we should just stop environmental exploitation of the entire area.... yeah that's it.

Seems to me that people can't just drop flags and claim they own land like in the Roman Empire. What is Russia thinking? Have they not come up to speed with the rest of the world yet?
