Is it just me or does the new princess bare an uncanny resemblance to her great-grandmother, the Queen?

Damned good thing, I'd say.

No whispers about cuckoos in the nest and all that.

Have faith in "democracy".

Irony of ironies, Quebec, which is overwhelmingly anti-monarchical would never agree to any constitutional change that might diminish its power. The original BNA act protected the French language, their Catholic faith and that agreement with the Crown (not with T.R.O.C. ... The Rest of Canada) is why Quebec exists in the first place.

New Princess News

Latest image from Kensington Palace - new grandfather Michael Middleton arriving to join his wife, Carole, daughter, Pippa, and the baby's other proud grandparents Charles and Camilla at the Duke and Duchess's London home.

Michael Middleton arrives at Kensington Palace (PA)

The princess's name will NOT be announced today, Kensington Palace has said.

"The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world. It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter.

"Their Royal Highnesses were today visited by The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Mr and Mrs Middleton, and Pippa Middleton.

"Additionally Prince Harry has said about his new niece: 'She is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to meet her.'"

The message from Prince Harry will be particular touching for the royal couple as he will not be able to meet his new niece until mid-May after he returns from Australia and New Zealand.

He flew back Down Under on Monday, April 27 to spend time with Australian Army units in Perth and Sydney before he embarks on an official tour of New Zealand from May 9 to May 16.

Harry jetted into the UK for a brief stay to present medals at the London Marathon on Sunday after a trip to Turkey for the Gallipoli centenary commemorations.

Here's a picture of the Queen and Prince Philip leaving a church service on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk today.

Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh were pictured leaving St Mary Magdalene Church this morning.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to travel to the nearby Anmer Hall - their country retreat - with their two children in the coming days. It is then that the new princess is expected to meet her famous great-grandparents for the first time.

Now here's a must for every discerning royalist. A range of official chinaware has been produced by Royal Collection Trust to celebrate the princess's birth.

The range includes a coffee mug (£19.95), pillbox (£29.00), tankard (£39.00) and plate (£45.00).

The designs show the lion and unicorn from the Royal Coat of Arms, in the style of figures from a carousel, as well as the coronet of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and a pattern of oak leaves from the Middleton family’s coat of arms.

They have all been hand-made in Stoke-on-Trent and are gilded with 22-carat gold.

Decades from now, I'm sure they'll be priceless antiques.

The Royal Mint has revealed the design of a commemorative £5 coin to mark the arrival of the princess.

Available in limited gold or silver editions, it is the second UK coin to celebrate the birth of a member of the royal family, the first having been the silver £5 coin issued to mark the birth of Prince George in 2013.

It was designed by artist John Bergdahl, who also designed the coin issued for the christening of Prince George in 2013. The obverse of the coin bears the new fifth portrait of The Queen by Jody Clark.

It will no doubt be a great joy to many people around the world when the Royal baby arrives and I hope it all goes without a hitch, but really, Blackleaf, do we have to be inundated with all the trivia connected to it every day, which many of us can do without until you announce the actually arrival!:)

are you serious, do you think everything you post is of great interest to everyone else, just don't read
it, if you find it boring, jeesh.

i love it, it is happy, it isn't ignorant argueing as many of these threads are, it isn't political
nattering, it is something for 'us' who are interested to feel joy about, what could be better.

another example of someone complaining about someone,,,,complaining.lol

and where was the complaint in my post? I just made a statement, didn't complain at all. Pointed out the obvious. Something you old timers seem to need.

I have no problems with it all- just BL's wordiness about the same topics day after day.

Always nice to welcome another welfare recipient in Briddin.

I believe they have some means! :)

Could be, but Princess Piglet will be on the Civil List, which means she will be paid hundreds of thousands of pounds out of the public treasury, whether she fulfills any royal duties or not. It is a lifetime grant of welfare granted to those who fall out of the right vag*na.

Nice to see you finally admit your short comings. Always nice when an american finally sees the light.

They're mostly the same as us, Ger....................folks is folks regardless of geography!

You make a good point but there is nothing she can do about it- so I just wish them all well.
