The problem is the Tea Party is a protest movement, not a political organization of merit.
Now they scored some victories and the real work is to take place ahead of rhetoric.
Remember the last guy who ran for President of rhetoric he has the same problem. The
fact is they can't cut the budget by 100 billion because if they did the country would sink
into a serious recession or worse. This was about one upmanship and their victory is the
worst thing that could have happened.
the Americans have confused economic health and cheap taxes. They have to find another
way, if they get rid of the good jobs, there will no one to pay the various taxes that have to be
paid.
The fact is, America has to put its financial house in order to get people back to work, or they
and to do that they need a plan and plans don't come from angry people who had no real plan
in the first place.

What's this? Another US Congress dedicated to doing absolutely nothing of importance? Maybe we should just be thankful that it has no invasions planned.

You are right when people get elected through anger the expectations are always higher than
anything that can be delivered. The other problem is the Tea Party, is a protest group not a
political party. Unless they can compromise, they will accomplish nothing. The Tea Party
set themselves up as an entity that will find it difficult to compromise. By marginalizing their
efforts the Democrats can make compromises unacceptable to the Tea Party which they
have to reject. They will then be branded as obstructionists. Not only that in most cases the
President can Veto their legislation claiming it is not in the interests of America. In short nothing
of substance will happen and the first non shocker is they can't cut 100 billion out of the budget
without putting .America in the economic tank and they now know it, let the blame game begin.

With 14 trillion dollars in debt; I don't think annexing Canada at this point would make a difference, even though we have a large country on the map our GDP is more comparable to Texas and another Texas won't save the states.

Actually winning military victories are part of Americas problem. Victory in Europe brought
the Marshall plan which saw newer more up to date factories built overseas with American
reconstruction money. Same thing happened in Japan.
The resources of Canada would be the big incentive for America wanting Canada but the
best of their world lies in the fact that we as Canadians don't have enough nationalism in us
to demand more for our natural resources and set one price for Canadians and one for the
rest of the world.
