First real drunk. Grade 12 pre grad sleepover. Good god. Do not ever mix Rum, Rye, Vodka, Coolers and beer and expect to be okay the next day, or even the day after that.
First real drunk I had was one New Years. I was drinking Brown Cows, but my friend's boyfriend insisted on getting my refills. He eventually added vodka "to cut the sweetness", and it wasn't till I stood up to go pee that I realized how drunk I was getting. The next morning I was supremely hungover, and my mouth was as dry as toast, so when my friend handed me a glass of grapefruit juice I happily downed it. Big mistake - it came right back up again. 8O

i remember!!!!! it was a summer baseball game that work had organized....afterwards we went into the local watering hole, at that time had terry towel covers on the tables and you could smoke, and the men had a seperate entrance, all that good stuff. i am sure this still exists outside of victoria. anyhow, after downing our spirits, we headed into denny's for a little chow. i was laughing with the buddies, and threw my head down on the table and it split in half. (it was two tables together if i recall). that caused even more hilarity and after we had whatever we all went outside and peed by the cars. god, we were really moronic. yuk, i knew there was a reason why i didn't want to remember this. i told my sister because i had such a horrible hangover, that i had eaten a lot of 'bad peanuts' the night before. heheheheh.....you know, i think she might have believed me. then there was the time when my bro in law built new back stairs and i sneaked in, only i couldn't because i fell thru the stairs (carpentry wasn't his strongest profession).......and before you say anything pea, at that time i probably weighed in around 110 lbs, so it wasn't a weight issue...bitch.

pea, me being drunk is not a pretty site. believe me. i have seen my antics replayed by my children. groan. it is very painful to have to relive the previous party through the eyes of a teenager. they don't let you forget anything  although, i have now double sworn off the vodka. ouch, that stuff is wicked around me lately. now i am just an ol' wino. 8) or beero :p

Remember when? .... oh, so many things!

I was an army brat and went to a total of 13 schools across Canada, from Quebec City to Vancouver .... where do I start?!!

Well, way before many of you were even a glint in your parent's eye :) ..... when I was about 4 or 5 (1952-3), we were in Ottawa (born in Eastview, now Vanier), and my mother would put me on the streetcar (yes, Ottawa had streetcars back then), my life entrusted to the streetcar driver, and off I would go to pre-school. At that school I remember the wire cases full of pints of white and chocolate milk that were brought in at lunch time for us.

While I was 5, 1 yr old sister in tow, we moved to Edmonton .... Camp Griesbach .... more on that next time.
