MMP offers the citizenry MPPs that have not been elected. In terms of ingenious ways to improve our system, random selection could be no worse. MMP mixes political deadwood with the generally mediocre selections of the electorate. MMP makes the legislative assembly more fractious and minority government more likely. MMP costs more money as the assembly is packed with additional politicians who directly represent nobody.
Think of the MMP as the ''last past the post', or 'failed to start' selection system. Only losers win.
