and where will it go Tbones
If prior history is any guide, it'll eliminate more of the brain-sh*t as the people with sh*t in their brains do some housecleaning or die off. Not all of it, of course. Takes several cycles. You know, lather, rinse, repeat, just like it says on the shampoo bottle.

And there'll probably be slips backward, too, if history is any guide. But the general trend of inclusion of more and more in the sphere of "people, with rights" instead of "outsiders, to be dominated or killed" will continue.

I hope.

This is what Dr. King meant. "The moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
sometimes it just doesn't feel that way which is why I asked in which direction you felt things would go.

I'd like to live for a while and I'd like things to be heading toward the light while I'm here. Things can go south in a hurry.

The Germans are, in my own personal observation, one of the kindest, most decent, most tolerant peoples in the world. And look what happened to them in the 30s and 40s.

But, if you look at the 20th century, it began with slavery and discrimination being routine, and ended in a much better place.

We do what we can, Sal. I agree that when the light goes out for me, I hope it's a brighter light than it is now. But we won't get there by hiding the darkness. Painful as it is, it's probably good that it gets pulled up and exposed for what it is.

that is precisely who I was thinking about, it can happen, it did happen

it did. Have you seen 12 Years a Slave. I know several people who could not get past 15 minutes because it is so "real"

no doubt everything must come to the light from the dark before it can be made better. making it better is the tough part, and how there is always a dilemma about 'how'...I am conflicted about that at times.

Not to nitpick too much (I'm sure bones understands) but the actual quote is:

"Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman".
