There's no contradiction.
Sure there is. You specifically claimed this is good news for the economy and yet you previously proclaimed that the economy didn't matter. If the economy truly doesn't matter then it would simply be news. But since you specifically referred to it as good news, then you must obviously put some measure of importance on the economy.

Is it surprising that white nationalist climate change deniers are compelled to denounce everything Canadian?

No.

It is entirely consistent with their stupid and hopeless worldview.

When you live in a world that hates you, you end up hating the world.
Is it surprising that some closet fascist and racist loser who claims to have a "twit list" likes to presume what the people on said list have posted?

Nah. That's just what cowards do. Funny how he's compelled to insult people while at the same time refusing to take what he dishes out from those same people. And yet this goof allegedly served in the Canadian Forces. As what? A data entry clerk? Latrine scrubber?

Can they?
Of course but BC it's domicile constructon and Federal infrastructure "ActionPlan" money bringing BC highways out of the 1960s that are the biggest chunks.

Oh and seismic uograding of Govt buildings, ports, schools, bridges, hydro and nat gas distribution.

BC'S share was borrowed by Liberals banking on BC getting into the fossil fuel game.

And BCs construction industry is largely residential/commercial building.

Are you getting there, or do you need more time?

And now for the conbots who purport to care about the economy to tell us why they hate good news about the economy. (It's Trudeau's socks)

Real GDP by industry grew in every province in 2017, StatsCan says

Canada's gross domestic product grew 3.3 per cent in Canada in 2017 — the strongest pace of growth in six years, according to Statistics Canada.

The output of the economy grew last year for every province and the territories except Yukon, the agency reported on Wednesday.

StatsCan said the growth rates provide an indication of how well an industry or an economy is doing and help policy-makers at the Bank of Canada, the finance ministry and provincial governments monitor the evolution of provincial and territorial economies, formulate policies and decide on the timing of their implementation.

In B.C., GDP rose 3.9 per cent in 2017 due to its services-producing industries, such as real estate and rental/leasing industries, as well as transportation industries. Among goods-producing industries, B.C.'s construction sector contributed most to its GDP growth.

In P.E.I., real GDP expanded 3.2 per cent, the highest among Atlantic provinces with increases in goods-producing industries outpacing services-producing industries for the first time in four years. Growth was broad-based with 18 of the 20 industry groups recording higher output, the agency said.

Canada's largest province, Ontario, saw its GDP rise by 2.8 per cent in 2017, up from 2.6 per cent in 2016. Most of Ontario's growth came from the service sector, which made up 80 per cent of the growth in the province's economy.

Too bad you don't understand what you post. WHile any increase in GDP is good if you look at where the increases are it tells a different story. INBCmost of the growth is not in any "industry". Rather it is all in recycling money already in the system and a large portion of that is not in anything worthwhile like increases in realestate. PEI OTH shows an increase in real productivity which is very good for them.

Meaning we are not doing well at all.

Construction as in mining, O&G sectors?

Consstruction as in houses for rich folk from elsewhere and stores for them to spend their pensions in. The last real construction project was the Kitamat Smelter and we have some hydro projects underway but they are replacements/rebuilds except for Site C. Hasn't been a sawmill or Smelter built in decades.

Here's an idea: know what you;re talking about prior to talking.

Mining and O&G construction?

WTF?

You need to take your own advice. Now back to school .

You do understand that a fixer upper in Vancouver sells for a millionish dollars

Still doesn't add anything to the economy. Here is a class project for you: Study up on the concept of First Dollar and get back to us.

Is being born of European extraction in Canada something to be ashamed off ?
