Ya think the cops are the bad guys here? I don't think so!
No, I think the legislation and the government is the bad guy on this issue.
Cops are just lemmings.

What would you do to rectify the problem?
Confirm with the public that lower tuition fees are a priority.
If yes, then give the students what they want and raise taxes.
If no, then negotiate with students and use statistical information as a bargaining tool.
The media would help out with any figures that represent a democratic inclination.
What's the chance of the public further subsidizing what are already the lowest tuition rates in the country? Obviously these brats don't understand the concept of user pays? If they spent the time working instead of protesting they'd already have enough money to pay their tuition! Actually I can't see these "no minds" advancing to positions of influence.
I know you have your own personal opinion of what value people place on education (and taxes) - it seems to be a conservative thing to impose this kind of fluff on others - but in the real world, we need to determine if people would actually be willing share the burden for lower tuition or if it should be placed only on those who directly benefit.
I know you would rather people just pay for themselves, but that is not the only option - nor is it necessarily the correct one.
The facts as I've been led to believe- 1. The amount that students pay for tuition ACTUALLY covers 1/10th of the total education costs. 2. When a person has his own money invested in an undertaking, he has more interest and added incentive to succeed.
Well..
1.) Who cares?
2.) Most students in other provinces don't have the money to afford uni and their parents pay for them.
- Apparently the province of Quebec and their electorate care.
- So what?

Your question to #2 is answered by your #1.
ROFLMAO
Lemme help you out on this Flossy. The people that kick in the cash are (ironically) the ones that make the rules.
Are ya picking up what I'm putting down here?
I already picked that up in my earlier response to JLM, but thanks for playing.
Oh, ok. So the message is that you really don't understand then.
Gotcha
... And apparently no rebuttal from you
