It brings up issues of sanitation and that is a legitimate public concern. However maybe the kid couldn't make it to the bathroom. Better into the plastic garbage can than leaked across the whole mall.

Um, I don't think it's worthy of having a public debate over it to be honest. Don't know why someone would photograph that and post it online. But personally I'd rather not have to deal with the smell of urine in the middle of a shopping mall either.

Is it a multiculturalism issue? Are a lot of people doing this in shopping malls? If not, I'd say it's a one off. Probably just the best of a bad situation would be my guess. Now if hundreds or even dozens of people begin urinating into trash cans in the middle of the mall, then we have a problem. Until then, I'm just really shrugging my shoulders at the whole situation.

As for the split pants I have heard about that from travelers to China but I don't know.

I agree! No one should be so poor off, that they don't even have a pot to piss in!
