I've seen the extended version where a gun man comes into the classroom, the student shoots him,
He drops the gun on the the teacher's desk ".I was going to turn this in......I want to be safe...........so I think I'll return the gun to my dad. Maybe someday he will save lives just like I just did"

By the way, nobody's advocating doing that. It's a dramatisation, at no point does the PSA suggest kids should do this.

Yes, it's an advertisement. It's amazing how people can get their knickers twisted over it. It reminds me of the folks that figured Judas Priest lyrics can cause a kid to commit suicide. The funniest thing is that these people have absolutely no idea how silly they are.

That's funny. You sound like a Toronto lefty. "We have to make sure no-one can possibly misinterpret the message!"

Pete probably wanted to ban The Bare Naked Ladies from Regina. It worked so well in the end for TO

The problem is there are gun nuts and anti gun nuts and neither of them hear the other.
The sane people go about their business without getting wrapped up in the crap. For
one asking these kids to go and steal the guns is really dangerous. First they teach the
kids stealing is alright. Two they ask the children to put themselves in harms way without
knowing how to handle a gun and third the precedent it sets is children can play with
dangerous weapons as long as they are stealing for the right reason.
Put all the backlash aside for a moment and think of this potential situation.
A kids does what's asked a neighbor sees the child with a gun and calls the cops, the cop
ends up shooting the kid. Who wants to live with that?
The government in its wisdom should move against these people for counseling children
to commit a crime that is not legal either. This is more than civil disobedience in my view
its criminal.
