We have had this nonsense in BC along with an eco fee for anything electric
we purchase all proceeds go to general revenue this is a hoax perpetrated
by the taxation department to make you think you are fixing a problem that does
not exist end of story

It's double ended. The scrap metals and plastics from recycled electronics are worth good money. Really good money. Same goes for the contents of your blue box and tires. Have you ever seen a Canadian Tire seacan? Ever wonder what goes into them on the return trip to Asia? Highly prized "garbage".

It's why I don't use a blue bin. Waste companies hire crews to sort garbage anyway. I get nothing for my valuable waste so why should I waste my time to sort it for them?

Because that would be political suicide so lets change the nature of the tax . Carbon tax different then GST .
Funds still go directly into general revenue , but were saving the planet don't you know .
