Has anyone else seen the documentary "Project Grizzly", available on the NFB (national film board canada) website? I've taken to streaming documentaries off the NFB site of late and this is one of my favourites. Following this guy as he tries to perfect an armoured suit that could withstand a grizzly attack.

Yep.........lol............pretty stunned chappie. You can't walk in the suit. Too much time on his hands.

I'll be watching a NFB doc. and halfway through this owl appears on the screen and says the film is not available. It keeps on playing but the owl is in the way. No doubt I downloaded some viewing shyte incorrectly. ah well, what's an owl between friends??

yes, I watched it, pretty wierd, this dude is living in some sort of cartoon world.

it was hillarious when he couldn't walk in the suit, and they had to rescue him from it.

he and the great santini should have met, they would have hit it off just fine. lol

The man's name is Troy Hurtubise and the movie was directed by Peter Lynch for NFB.

Project Grizzly - YouTube

Project Grizzly was shot by Tony Wannamaker CSC and is a career making credit for him - its probably his best film credit. The Gaffer was Rob Campbell, and the Key Grip was Diane Haggarty, and Tom Care and they shot 2/3 of the movie in North Bay Ontario.

the suit has been studied by Japanese scientists for crowd control measures - riot police gear

But like any suit of armour it has to be custom fit to the combatant.

The science here, which is something the movie did not go into very much, is the manufacturing process required to measure the anatomy of the recipient and make a bulletproof suit that 'fits like a glove' and is able to withstand tremendous attacks including bomb attacks and yet still be cost effective to implement across an entire police force, or army corp. In truth Troy's suit was a bit of joke - it was more of a concept piece.

And you all may laugh, but this Made-in-Canada suit is a sneak peak at a much darker future...

I'm sure Troy will be happy to hear that.

Project Grizzly is a joke. The only Grizzlies in the movie are out-takes from other movies. This
Grizzley guy and his movie are fakes. Any bears would be as bored as the people who watched this film.
I watched it on TV a few months back and I got tired of nothing happening and nothing ever did happen.
