Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was given a warm welcome by the people of the Italian city of Reggio Emiliana.

The future British Queen has visited the Italian city - the birthplace of the modern Italian flag - in her mission to support children and their families in the earliest years of their lives.

The beautiful country with her ancient history was delighted by her visit.

After the King's speech to the US Congress, Britain once again deploys her mighty "soft power" that almost no other country can match. The Kingsy speech to the US Congress was like a headmaster telling off a load of naughty schoolchildren.

The British princess was given a movie star welcome by the Italians as she arrived in their country, her first overseas visit since she was diagnosed with cancer...

Italy has honoured the Princess of Wales, 44, with an Italian flag - in the city where the modern Italian flag was born - for her work in promoting education.

From Australia's 9 News...

Princess visits Anne Frank School

The princess showed off her Italian skills at the Anne Frank School, named after a young Dutch girl who was murdered by the Nazis during the war.

With the help of translators, she was able to interact with the staff and children of the school.

As she left she gave a round of high fives with the children...
