I don't think that the German people got up one morning and decided to kill all the Jews.
It was something within their society (across Europe) which had ordinary people despise Jewish folks.
Why was that?

People hated Jewish folks because they had money. It was Class Warfare.
Not so much because they were of Jewish religion, but rather because they controlled all the financial institutions across Europe and people rebelled against it.

That is how the extermination began. That is why the ordinary folks agreed with their government policies against the Jews.

The gypsies and others who were persecuted had other cultural reasonings.... but for the Jews, it was the poor against the rich.
It had nothing to do with Religion in the real sense.

I remember how ashamed Jewish folks were when they immigrated to America after the war. They all tried to hide their Jewish heritage.
I found it really amusing when Madamme Albright (US Secretary State, Clinton) announced after her nomination that she had just "recently" found out that she was Jewish.
Here she was, a professor of history and would want us all to believe that she failed to research the history of her family or heritage.

I was researching the gypsies and found out that Hitler nearly exterminated all of them because they were not of pure Aryan stock. He was an equal opportunity mass murderer tho,anyone who wasn't white,of pure blood, and had a few defects he had killed.
