I wonder whether this comparison can be made. I guess only extremely religious Christians would be offended. Anyway, I can imagine it can be very shocking for some people. Not only to Jews (although there were a lot of Jewish groups who found it an outrage); Hitler and his Nazis killed so many others, and caused so much suffering among non-Jewish Europeans as well. I guess my own grandparents, had they still been alive, would be shocked as well by this. I can't imagine what would have happened if my personal life was in the news every day when I was that age.
