The loonie may be continuing its ascent but sticker prices have been slow to reflect little, if any, change.
Canadian booksellers have said consumers can expect sticker prices to fall and some other retailers have begun matching U.S. prices. Still, thrifty consumers seeking bargins are heading across the border or ordering from U.S. retailers, undeterred by additional taxes, duties and delivery charges.
In the attached article the CBC has done a comparison of the prices on several selected products in Canadian and American cities.

I'm not sure if I can actually enter the US - I've been given contradictory information on that.

But no I'd be shipping more stuff from the US if places like amazon.com would actually ship here.

Obviously, nobody at the CBC knows anything about contracts and business, else they'd know that prices like this are determined a year or more in advance.

Even amazon.com would ship to France, I don't see why it wouldn't ship to Canada??

Am I shopping cross-border, damn straight I is:

About 3 years ago I ordered some musical "stuff" from US, priced at $149.00USD. By the time I got it home (via mail) it cost $267.CD.:::Exchange, customs, bla bla.

I ordered some more "stuff" today at $255USD, and the final cost to me (excluding customs, as no one knows what these dicks will charge you until they do), is $283CD........shipping and exchange included........

Why would I order from the US?. The "stuff" is made in the US. Not China or any other pacrim. It can't be bought in Canada. I would love to shop Canadian if we could meet the US prices on these particular items.

I LOVE (really), not being sarcastic, these particular American businesses.(music and luthier) They are talented, their products are good and no bullshyte in the selling. They stand behind their products. You can actually phone them and TALK to a PERSON. And when they say they will get back to you...............THEY DO!!!!!!!!!!!8O8O8O Great folks. We are 100 or so years behind the times here.

There I go, cranked it up. Said I wasn't going to, but did.............Where's me tranquilizers??
