There was an outcry last May when it emerged that defeated Bloc Québécois leader, Gilles Duceppe is in line to receive $140,000 a year from taxpayers, despite devoting his career to breaking up the country.

Separatists pay taxes too. Their political goals dont really matter. His constituents kept him in there for twenty years.

I disagree. Anyone that is trying to break up the country should not be permitted to suck ANY money out of the taxpayers pocket. To give him a pension as well is just plain wrong.

Why not? As long as they are in the country they are paying taxes. You cant make them pay taxes with no benefits from those taxes. Working a little over 20 years at a job usually gets a person some benefits/pension.
