forget about MJ.....seems the bush gov't has videos of boys being sodomized in US prisons.

"America" cannot ever have the same Image it had before the Iraq invasion. Don't think any amount of "damage control" will work.

The world has seen too much reality now , and this ain't over yet.

just when one thinks it can't get uglier.....something is revealed that ups the ante.

RE: Pressure to close Gua

It looks to me like the world is watching and shaking their head in disgust at the actions of the American government.

I don't think they can clean it up. I think the Bush administration entrenched a systemic problem by tacitly (or not so tacitly) supporting abuse.

I think Clinton knows that too.

concur with your assessment.

Should they close it down.......where would they transfer all those prisoners to??? Maybe to "their " SECRET" security (prisons) and then no one would know what is going on.......as we don't now.

Don't think that the US(G) denounces "torture".(except to put a verbal mask on it) Heck , it was not all that long ago......when "they" were lynching people. One could say, that sadistic aggression is in their blood. .....and all they do is come up with new ways to do it. "interesting" society........that professes itself to be "god fearing" or some such.

Don't think that the US(G) denounces "torture".

Thats why they are in Cuba.

Pretty hypocritical for them to do that though, since they always whine how bad Castro is and have an embargo against Cuba. Yet they do worse to people that have not been charged with anything, denying them their rights under the Geneva convention.

I say shut it down and release them or at least move them to a neutral third country.

But as usual America Government talks out of both sides of its mouth.

No. 1. Have you ever seen the level of hypocracy /deceit that exists in the USG???? It is so blatant, it has a pulse of it's own now. There is NO ethical standard. No moral standard......(even tho the sanctimonious Christian right preach the gospel each time they open their big mouths.

"they " demand of other nations what they themselves do not live up to.

then "they" wonder why there is so much anger at them. They patronize , condemn from their fowl mouths......while they think they can get away with anything they want now. Would bet the first words "they" teach their kids are "God bless america." Americans are the best and a few other patriotic phrases that will brainwash those poor kids for the rest of their lives.

Interesting society.

Of course "they" condone torture. It wasn't that long ago when lynching was the order of the day in the US.
