I mean, if you kill everyone with different morals then there's no one to say what you did is wrong...because to kill everyone with different morals you have to be morally okay with doing it in the first place. I don't think killing human beings is a good thing. But then again, the world is over populated, right?
Disease, starvation, all this stuff sucks. But it's not affecting the US or Canada so it's not AS important as AIDs right?
People are self centered. One day I might run for president of the USA (Hell, they put Bush i office, why not me! See, and you thought only the intellectual elite could run a country)...my campaign will be simple. A 30 hour work week at 40 hour pay. I will win by 80%. Hell, even if my campaign was pro-removing-late-term-fetuses-and-using-them-as-bait-to-catch-baby-seals-for-brutal-clubbing I could still win by a cool 55%.
In a democracy, people make choices...choices to act or not to act...they do this for many reasons. And often times a minor precieved benefit will make not acting worth it. I know when I heard of the war I said to myself "well, that's retarded. But what can I do. Atleast oil prices will drop...I'll see if it fixes itself". Now, the other day I notice gas prices were still high. And I felt doubly screwed over by the American system. (Note: I -did- protest prior, but I'm infering from a conversation with a friend who did not.)

Well Wulf the point is yes you shouldn't start stuff in your neighbor's backyard if you can't take care of your own. But I think of it this way if you're exploiting a country for your own personal benefit the least that country could do is offer a bit of aid while helping out their own people.
