Them beasts would eat you for lunch azzend first.

Polar bear would for sure. Grizzly's only if it were hungry. Black bears unlikely.

Black bears are much like dogs in that they have hierarchy and ettiquette rules. Both black and grizzly bears are very sensitive creatures and respond as such.

I am an animal lover. I have had the pleasure of visiting Coola and Grinder (resident grizzlies) up on Grouse Mountain. I have had the pleausure of watching a black bear walk from Burnaby Lake across our path. We were far enough away to be completely safe and it was an awesome experience. The bear knew we were there and didn't really care. He was calm and munching on the clover at the side of the trail by the time I'd had my visual fill.

I've never had any personal experience with polar bears, but I know of a trainer in Abbotsford (couple of miles down the road from me) whom has a polar bear friend. I sure would love to see his bears in person. It would be a dream come true.

We had one get into the cottage once. When we got there he was playing bounce with the cat.
:(
I had to smoke him with the 30:06.
:)
then peel him for cooking purposes
then fix the door the window and the wall

"Nuisance" bears though...they allow for that up here

I wouldn't eat one of those nasty bastards, Get me a tostada some tacos and a tall coke with lots of ice. Those idiots that feed bears human food and think they're cute need to be arrested.

bear meat is pretty gross unless its' done chirozo style. Then it's quite tasty...

Friend of mine was mauled by a black bear up on the mogollon rim years ago. Damn near killed him . He was in the hospital for a month. Alligators are not capable of having any other leanings other than to feed. Much the same witth another preditor the great white shark or the anaconda. Bears are the same. The only feeling they have is to feed.

worse... they will play with their food like a cat will
one has to be damned careful around them.

...and they can smell a BBQ at about 10 miles

I'll agree about alligators (and crocodiles) but I disagree about bears.

Great white sharks, I'm just learning have all kinds of body language and are not bottomless stomachs as we assume.

The one quote people use all the time that I find very annoying is "they're undpredictable" to which I always say No, they are not. We just don't now how to read their body language.

Animals kill. It's what we do. Doesn't matter if you have 4 legs, 2 legs, wings, or scales.

When dealing with bears, it is well to remember that a bear experiences the world mostly through its nose. Vision is poor, and mostly used for close-up stuff. But a bear can smell a seal underwater from 2 miles (3.2km) off.
