Yukon Jack. Imagine if I started a thread about a Nazi publication talking about killing black people and 'nigger-lovers', and started huffing and puffing about it. Sure they'd be wrong to print that (and Playboy never even printed it), but then again, what's the purpose of a Nazi publication? Instead of criticizing the article itself, it would make more sence to criticize the Nazi movement as a whole, don't you think? The article would comeas no surprise because that is what Nazis publish.
Now coming back to Playboy. It's a magazine for womanizers who wish to objectify women. What do you expect from them? Instead, I object to the very existence of such a publication if it is in fact pormographic, which a cursory glance at its website suggests it is.

Also, I wouldn't expect any more representation from the religious left in a Nazi party as I would from the religious right at Playboy. Again, articles objectifying women is what I'd expect from such a magazine.

Machjo, I definitely see your point. But it hurts me that there people who think that the article - even though it was pulled - raping conservative women is just hoot.

I have a hunch you would not dismiss it cavalierly as you do it in this case. Had a similar article been published in a conservative publication about raping liberal women, you would be the first to complain.

Personally, regardless of where one stands on the political spectrum, I find it appalling that it is implied by rational, supposedly grown men, on such a regular basis, that women in political power are somehow only valid if they are sexually appealing.
Shall I make a list of male politicians I wouldn't sleep with? Because holy crap, I could be here all day.
BTW.... your assertion that you don't want to 'promote' the article by linking it, is negated by having people Google for it. That promotes it even more, as Google searches are tallied, AND the article gets hits. You're better off just posting a link.

I let a few hours go by, hoping that maybe just ONE person on this forum would come forward and deplore the article - read by thousands before it was pulled - glorifying the rape of conservative women. None came. Not a single female poster expressed outrage. In fact some tacitly approved the rape of conservative women by their deafening silence.

It sounds like few have cared to go read it YukonJack. You never bothered posting a link, and I personally am not inclined to give it Google hits. But I notice you ignore all that.
karrie, requesting a link is the admission that you can not fend for yourself. It is the admission that you are satisfied with the opinion others give you without doing anything on your own to confirm or deny what you might read on that link.
Giving a link is enabling the lazy. With todays technology and lightning swift search engines only lazy people would refuse to do a google search on their own. They deny themselves of the joy of discovery. They read what was spoonfed to them, not caring to find an alternate opinion.
