For a while there, flying saucers were considered a joke and sightings were chalked up to the conspiracy theory community.

But for the first time in history, the Pentagon has acknowledged the existence of UFOs, to which they’re commonly referred, though they’ve been rebranded by U.S. Defense and intelligence officials as UAPs, or unidentified aerial phenomena.

And phenomenal they are.

The UAP task force’s unclassified report, complete with photos and videos that were leaked in 2019, found “no clear indications that there is any non-terrestrial explanation” for the mysterious aircrafts, but they also did not rule it out.

That’s promising news for longtime believers – and there are a lot of believers.

In fact, the number has increased over time, according to the infographic on UFO sightings from Ace Cash Express.

According to an Ipsos survey, 52% of Americans believe in extraterrestrial life, while 16% say they have personally witnessed something they thought was a UFO, er, UAP.

While the recent report, released in June was huge, people want more. In fact, nearly half of Americans surveyed (49%) want the government to release a full report that details the work at Area 51.

The states with the most UAP sightings are California, Florida, Washington, Texas and New York.

The possibility of alien life is exciting, for many, and has been for decades.

It’s widely believed that UAPs have technology far more advanced than anything the U.S. has achieved, from pilots who claimed they’ve encountered spacecrafts with “transmedium” capabilities, or the ability to transition from air to water to space, to crafts with no detectable propulsion that somehow move at incredible speeds.

Those who are on the skeptical side believe UAPs are nothing more than foreign intelligence from countries that possess far more advanced technology.

That’s far less exciting, though arguably, a bit more terrifying.

Bring on the little green men!

"Over half of Americans believe in aliens."

And the other half of non-believers polled, conceded the fact that they didn't have a mother-in-law.
