the "pentagon " must be feeling the heat.. But is as hypocritical as ever.

"we don't do body counts".......is what is and will be remembered.

.........(implication being."we just kill /maim /and murder them"......and leave the dirty jobs like counting them , burying them to others.

How on earth can ANYONE begin to have any RESPECT for such an inhumane /(sadistic)... nation???

Even as The Pentagon responds to U.S. domestic pressure to provide figures, they cannot seem to stop themselves from their weasel-like deceptions.

Even a moron must realize that the majority of civilian deaths occurred during the Shock & Awe portion of the invasion, beginning with the first bomb that dropped on April 19th, 2003 (in the decapitation attempt of Saddam) through the taking out of command and control targets, until March 21, 2003 when the main Coalition bombing campaign began in earnest (launching 1700 air sorties -- 504 using cruise missiles ) until the Bush-described “Mission Accomplished” on May 1, 2003.

From then until December 31, 2003 was the period when the Allies attempted pacification by force.

After 2003, with the obvious exception of Fallujah, the Allies tried less extravaganza methods of crushing Iraqi resistance.

I accept (as a conservative estimate) the Pentagon’s figures from 2004 onward, but I also believe The Lancet’s figures, which include the dead from the actual war — especially the bombing campaign.
