Soc, what does this have to do with 'Own the Podium'?

By the way, your link is outdated. The conservatives are on the rise again...

I know it is off topic, but so is asking God to bless Harper for doing nothing.

As I said Harper has nothing to say about the Olympics, he did not initiate anything that led to this great Canadian sport success.
The funding the Conservatives will offer the sports community is not a gift or a kind act by the Conservatives towards starving athletes, it is simply an obligation that would dement support from any Government of the day.

Harper and the Conservatives are looking to ride as usual on some one ales credit, and call it their own.

I f you look at their dismal record of performance you will see just that.

As for the Conservatives are starting to rise,

just wait until the voters get a chance to see some parliamentary debates coming up and you will see who is going to rise on the polls.

I know Canadian Bear is smarter then praising a bunch that proved to be different from what they want the voters to believe.

But I think, that God blessing the Conservatives bit on the title OF THIS THREAD, is a clever way to through some sh!t on Harper.

A good sarcastic spin.......:p

Thank the Conservatives. Alright - just as long as everyone remembers that the Conservatives, as is the case with every government, don't have any money of their own. They have my money and that of every other taxpayers. So on behalf of taxpayers everywhere I say you are welcome for the Olympics I helped purchase.

You are so right, Machjo and thank you for making my point. We believed in ourselves, our country, and our athletes before they started winning. As one person put it, we Canadians who cheered them on, were the wind beneath their wings. That our athletes came through in such convincing fashion was a measure of the belief they had in themselves as well as the belief we had them.

All the belief in the world does not cancel the need to set goals and then meet or exceed them. Proving to ourselves that we can do something gives us the extra push for the next time. You may not need the proof, Machjo, but many of us are empowered by it.
I so agree with you Mowich and I think that all that positive energy that was flowing had to have an effect on the outcome. I am so proud to be a Canadian. I've always been proud to be a Canadian but it's extra good to know I am amongst such good company!!;-)
