if the posties could all vote we would be in the middle of a general strike right now.

Posties were offered 2% per year for four years, plus that retro 2% to last February...plus a $1000 signing bonus for full timers, $500 for part-timers, and $250 for temp employees.

The riverboat gamblers that run the Union turned it down. Now with back-to-work legislation, there is no incentive for Canada Post to negotiate anything reasonable. And the employees will get the short end of the stick again through forced mediation...just like in 2011.

The retarded Union Reps still think we're living in the 1950's.

And there are many incredibly intelligent postal workers...beware that blue collar stereotype...they just aren't the type to sit in a cubicle for 8 hours a day. They'd rather be moving.

in the case of the posties back to work legislation is normal and basically gives management a free ride in bargaining.

OK, thanks. I agree. Down hereabouts government workers aren't allowed to strike at all, a policy with which I agree. They have other avenues to push their positions.

Remember when the air traffic controllers went on strike and Reagan fired 'em all?

Well you don’t expect the Trudeau government to open the check book for the unionized pasties do you ? Come now we have terrorists to sponsor , conferences to attend , and starving migrants pouring through our borders , you can’t expect posties to make a living wage .

Worth noting the pretty much all delivery companies in Canada are union.

T-Force is unifor and they are about 90% of the competition

Yeah, I heard there was a massive "MeToo" demonstration where strippers shocked the public by gathering in the square FULLY CLOTHED!
Back in the 80’s and 90’s stripping was a big business here in lalaland . Every bar every day throughout the province .

Fedex voted to join the teamsters this spring,

Purolator are PSAC same as the posties, and

Dynamex does not even exist anymore they were swallowed by TForce and that means they are now unifor.

For government checks and etc, yes, I agree. But little johnny's Christmas present is not exactly an essential service.

Canada post might be the agent for government mail servces but it also does alot more.

I agree that is too complicated for me to decide what is essential and what is not essential...but if the government wants to legislate them back to 100% service then they should force the Canada Post corp to comply to mandatory mediators and then eventually mandatory mediator decisions.

Additionally, i am not without empathy for the online businesses that are suffering right now due to the christmas season sales being totally disrupted, but it is hardly something that can be considered an essential service.

Canada Post's Union is CUPW...Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

PSAC is the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
