VanIsle, I think the Photo Camera Lights means something to do with photo radar, etc. You don't get demerits when you get caught on photo radar. I'm not sure I agree with punishment for not voting. I always vote, regardless how bad the choices are, but if I said to heck with it, I would think that should be my choice.

As far as voting online, the powers that be would have to come up with a way that a person could not vote more than once, but if there's more that one voting age person in one house, everyone would have their chance to vote. i.e. Idol reality shows, people can vote 'hundreds' of times. A newspaper poll, a person (a computer, IP address(?) can only vote once. How, then, would more than one voting age person in one house be able to vote?

I'm not sure how people can say work schedules as a reason for not voting. Isn't there something that says businesses have to give employees a certain amount of time during the hours the polls are open to go vote?

If you want more people to come out and vote then get rid of the political surveys.

If you get rid of the political surveys then people will have the motivation to vote because they won’t know who’s leading so their vote will mean something.

All the media should be reporting is the platforms of the different parties or independents.

Polls give an inaccurate representation on who will win because they are based on 500 to 5,000 surveys.

When a person reads the polls and see that a certain candidate or party is leading by a certain percentage then they feel they’re vote won’t help.

I don’t agree with electronic voting because hackers can manipulate it.

Mail-in ballots are better because there is a paper trail and more secure.

We have to remember that the veterans that died for us fought for our freedoms of the right to vote.

They did not fight to force us to vote.

When people don’t go out to vote they are saying that it really doesn’t matter who wins they all will do a good job.

Mostly, I think, they don't vote because they know they will do a bad job and our system sucks. If you want people to know what is going on, publish contributions to parties by lobbyists. They are the real power behind the government. Our votes doesn't carry near as much weight as money does. The media manipulate popular trends with their opinions and character assassinations of people they don't want getting elected.
