BERLIN — A truck driver in overalls grabbed a package of toilet paper from a volunteer and placed it in his trailer. The truck was nearly full. The driver said he was feeling powerful.
“Somebody has to do this. It’s my war — my war is to deliver goods,” said Vadim Pashkiuskiy, 29, as he prepared to return to Ukraine. “It may be dangerous, but it’s my responsibility to my country. I’m not hiding. I’m doing whatever I can to help.”

Hi Pete. How are you doing. It's a very hard time for me now. Lana stopped talking to me while war started. I am living in Canada almost 25 years and have nothing to do with it. We were around 20 years a good friends with Lana and I helped her a lots. I helped her to find volunteering place before college, she lived in my house for a while , I helped her with documents, she lived in my apartment in Surrey for over year while renting her apartment for good money... I was driving her everywhere, even to country side, to ski, when her mother came here, helping her in any way... And now its very hurtful for me that she treats me like her enemy.. I had so much stress and she should understand that it is very hard for me to loose friends at my age. I didn't deserve it. I am against war and feeling the same stress from all of it. My father was Ukrainian, mother Russian. I am half an Ukrainian. I am worried for my kids, for my future, when can I see my sister.... I am feeling vary bad right now. Sorry to tell you all that. I just can't sleep sometimes, Especially Lana disappointed me so much. When are you going to come to Vancouver?

Trudeau spoke to Zelensky from Berlin on Wednesday ahead of his meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as the NATO alliance continues to pressure Russia to end its invasion in Ukraine.
Trudeau has issued a standing invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to address Canada's Parliament one day.
