The Wagner Group sounds like a plodding wealth management firm located in a strip mall outside Kansas City.

But this organization does not greet people with a toothy good morning and a coffee. It welcome comes with a bullet.

Despite the bland name, they are in effect, Russian strongman Vladimir Putin’s secret army. And they have unleashed bloodshed around the planet.

According to a report by The Soufan Group, a global intelligence and security consultancy, it was mercenaries from the Wagner Group who were first on the ground in Ukraine, laying the groundwork for the Russian invasion launched on Wednesday.

The New York Times reports that around 300 Wagner operatives have been on the ground in the eastern Ukraine separatist enclaves of Donetsk and Luhansk. EU officials told the Times the killers were dressed in civilian clothes.

Experts in false flag operations, Putin’s killers have been accused of sickening atrocities across the globe.

“The Russian government has found Wagner and other private military companies to be useful as a way to extend its influence overseas without the visibility and intrusiveness of state military forces,” a report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies said.

Behind the Wagner Group are two of Putin’s closest pals.

Oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin — like comrade Putin — shares the belief in Russian empire that calls for the subjugation of the Soviet Union’s former satellite states. He has been sanctioned by the U.S. numerous times, including for alleged involvement in trying to derail American elections.

His rumoured partner in crime is the frightening founder of the company and a former Russian special forces commander named Dmitry Utkin, a veteran of the bloody Checnyan wars.

— Wagner operatives, in conjunction with local separatists and gangsters, ran the operation in Crimea in 2014 that saw that bit of the Ukraine absorbed into Russia.

— In 2017, its operatives were allegedly behind the horrific mutilation and eventual beheading of a Syrian army deserter. The company reportedly lost 600 men in the fighting against ISIS.

— The New York Post, citing human rights groups, reports the company’s mercenaries have also been linked to a slew of rapes and robberies in the Central African Republic.

Utkin, whose military call sign was “Wagner” after Hitler’s favourite composer, is reportedly obsessed with Nazi Germany.

On Dec. 13, 2021, the Council of the European Union imposed a set of restrictive measures against Utkin and other Wagner Group associates.

Utkin was accused of being “responsible for serious human rights abuses committed by the group, which include torture and extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions and killings.”

If the number of Russian body bags coming home from Ukraine begins to increase, Putin will see that the Wagner Group are front and centre.

The people of Ukraine need a safe haven from Russian aggression and Ontario is already home to a large Ukrainian population, he said.

“If we have to send planes, we’ll send planes over there ourselves to pick people up and bring them back and get them settled,” Ford said Friday.

Labour Minister Monte McNaughton, the minister responsible for immigration, said there is strong demand from employers for workers from Ukraine where there is a strong tradition of skilled trades.

One union has already indicated it could take up to 20,000 new workers, McNaughton said.

Ontario is short 338,000 workers — both in skilled and unskilled trades — and Ford and McNaughton were in London Friday to announce a new program to allow out-of-province workers in 30 in-demand professions to register in their regulation professions or trade within 30 days.

Ford said Ontario will do more to help the people of Ukraine by looking for ways to squeeze Russia economically.

The Premier urged U.S. President Joe Biden to reverse his decision to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL crude oil pipeline.

“We have to make sure we go right after the source of income of the Russian government, cut off their oil.” Ford said. “We need to get our pipelines going. Biden has to open up our pipelines rather than buying dirty oil off of Russia — and I’ll call it dirty oil — we need to start producing our oil which we have, endless amounts of oil.

“It just doesn’t make sense we’re supporting people like (Russian President) Vladimir Putin — that’s where he’s getting his cash from,” he said.

Technically Afghanistan fell to civil war. It was not attacked. It was attacked in 2001 by the Americans and 1980 by USSR. Doug Ford was not in power on either of those occasions.

Also this whole statement is of little value. Immigration is a federal matter.

I admit I seriously dislike Trump; hate though is a little more than I'm willing to give him credit for as I'd have to care to hate him.

What did Trump do? He used words, good words, strong words...

Yet his actions - then and now - are completely against those 'bigly' words.

As a habitual liar, that you believe he would do ANYTHING against Putin puts you as so gullible it's a surprise you function on your own.

As for it being liberal - again, I don't care if it leans liberal or conservative. If the respondents of it believed Trump would have prevented what's going on now, they're all fucking idiots and have no real grasp of the actual politics of the situation, then or now.

Yes, yes, you haven't posted anything pro Russia... You have a horrible job of showing it though.
Maybe he wouldn't have been the wet noodle that Biden is and put a little teeth into the rhetoric that was coming out of his mouth

Maybe put more fire under NATO to join in and take on the 3 nations attacking Ukraine instead of executing a paper defense
Oh, go jump. If he did that, you'd just accuse him of being "all talk."

You're perfectly free to hate Biden with every fibre of your being, just don't expect others to believe it's anything other than that.

As somebody said earlier, Biden could walk on water and you'd accuse him of not being able to swim.
