It’s been a wild and crazy ride the last year and a half, and assuming Trump doesn’t quit, taking his ball and going to Mar-a-Lago to Phone in his running of the board of peace I’m guessing sometime about Easter (?), what’s gonna happen here in the next two months?
1788565830318.jpegDemocrats remain favoured to capture the House of Representatives. I can’t say thats a given ‘cuz it never is, but it seems to be the way the wind is blowing. The interesting one at this point is that the Senate majority even with Trump‘s gerrymandering is now competitive and no longer safely in Republican hands.
1788565934749.jpegRepublicans defend a 53–47 majority, meaning Democrats need a net gain of four seats (accounting for the vice-presidential tiebreaker) to take control. That seemed far-fetched even six months ago, but not so much at this point. I think America is waking up to the outright blatant political graft and personal enrichment at their expense that is the second term of the Trump administration.

A higher cost of living (though much lower than in many other countries that are affected by Trump‘s dictates), a stalemate on Iran, a trade war with Canada of all things, and anyone with any political acumen whatsoever and access to the Internet can see what’s happening in Venezuela that isn’t going to lower America’s gasoline cost increases any time in the foreseeable term that Trump might live out.

Personally, I could see him quitting, probably within half a year, as he grows frustrated with trying to rule with presidential executive orders and vetos while dodging impeachments (plural), and simply walking away dramatically with the White House silverware in a presidential pillow case, leaving JD Vance in the big chair with plastic cutlery for the next 18 or so months. I’m probably wrong but I can see it happening, & who would JD Vance nominate as his vice president? Serious question here.

Who would a congress & senate not under Republican majority confirm as Vance’s VP? It wouldn’t be anyone swimming in the deep end of the MAGA reflective pool.

Then, what would a Vance administration even look like? Something on its own (to try to set himself up for re-election?) or would he try to double down on being Trump 2.1 policy wise to absolutely decimate the Republican Party for the next federal election? Food for thought.

One might agree if they thought Trump was a politician only interested in his own skin . Any one watching understands differently .

What do you think? Whose skin is he interested in? I’m watching, and I’m assuming we have different opinions. What’s yours?
Personally, I’m pretty sure he’s looking out for his own skin, and that of his family, and billionaire golf buddies.

What of the Midterms? What do you think is gonna happen? Do you think he’s gonna stick around past…let’s say Easter (?) if he doesn’t have the Congress &/or Senate majorities?

Trump said, during an event in the Oval Office, that his super PAC has about $1 billion in it. Some Republicans have expressed concern that he would not distribute money from the fund. "I'm going to spend whatever amount of money necessary to try to help us," he said. "This is money from MAGA Inc. This is money that I control."

(President Donald Trump claimed publicly that his political network has "close to a billion dollars" available. While the total across various affiliated groups may approach higher figures, the core super PAC itself holds around $400 million, not $1 billion🤫)
Several Republicans in hotly-contested districts are already downplaying Trump in their campaign messaging and removing references to him from their websites, The Associated Press reported last week.

Republicans in closely-fought districts and purple states face a dilemma on how closely to link their campaigns to Trump, says Alex Theodoridis, a professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and co-director of UMass Poll.
It's a challenge. If you're a candidate right now, you have to distance yourself from the president, but not too much, as Trump holds the purse strings, but outside of diehard MAGA’s, he’s become somewhat politically toxic.
That's still no guarantee the midterms will deliver both the House and the Senate to the Democrats. Trump appears poised to spend much of the next two months trying to persuade voters that handing control of Congress to his rivals will only somehow make the cost of living worse.

Of course he is going to finish his term to think otherwise is just foolish talk . Anyone who has watched Trump over the years knows he is a patriot first and foremost . He ran because he saw and sees politicians filling their pockets and getting fat of the American taxpayer . Of course anyone near the gravy train hates him . Tell me of another politician who actually answers questions without using weasel words . The only reason all the right people hate Trump is because he is upsetting the apple cart . And if you open your eyes you will see it is a beautiful thing .

I hear you, and his net worth has more than doubled in the less than two years during his second term in office because he’s so busy being a patriot.

(President Donald Trump has actively traded stocks and publicly promoted major companies on social media shortly after buying shares in them, though the White House denies any ethical violations or conflicts of interest. Analyses of trading volumes across financial and prediction markets have also identified suspicious spikes in trading activity right before major executive announcements or tariff policies made by the administration🤫)

In finance, stock market manipulation and insider trading are essentially zero-sum actions. For every dollar a manipulator gains by artificially driving a price up or down, or by trading ahead of public knowledge, other everyday investors (like other American taxpayers) take a corresponding loss.
He ran because he saw and sees politicians filling their pockets and getting fat of the American taxpayer
Yeah, in a mirror. This was there before Donald Trump, and be around after Donald Trump, but he has taken it to a blatant whole other next level. Unlike someone like Nancy Pelosi, the difference is Trump isn’t even bothering to try to hide what he’s doing any longer.
Tell me of another politician who actually answers questions without using weasel words .
You are defining ‘political speak’ (obfuscation) in your own words, and I agree with you that that’s what politicians do. They’re greasy. Anyway, in these coming midterms and other democratic elections, voters should pick their representatives, and not have representatives pick their voters, in America and elsewhere.
(Nonpartisan models, such as Cornell University's congressional forecast, give Democrats an 8-in-10 chance of securing the House. Meanwhile, Polymarket prediction data shows a roughly 50% probability of a full Democratic sweep of both chambers)
…and assuming Trump doesn’t quit, taking his ball and going to Mar-a-Lago to Phone in his running of the board of peace I’m guessing sometime about Easter (?)…

Well, time will tell, and this is just guesswork work on my part, and I admit that I’m probably wrong, but you’ll get to see me proven wrong potentially.

Without having republican majority in at least Congress and probably the Senate, the Trump administration would have to rely almost exclusively on executive orders, veto actions, and federal agency rules to enact policy for the remaining two years of Trumps term.

Does Donald Trump seem like a patient man to you? Willing to spend the next two years in political gridlock while under multiple indictments trying to hold him account for all the crazy shit he’s done in the last 20-ish months that are…questionable at best?

Pgs, you’re probably right and I am probably wrong, and Trump might stick in the big chair for the rest of his term until early 2029, but I can still picture him quitting. Staying in the Oval Office does provide him with a certain immunity to legal matters, even if he is going to be a lame duck ruling by edict or trying to for the next two years if things play out the way I think they might.

Unless a whole lot of Republicans in Congress that actually want to retain their cushy positions start voting with Democrats, the Democrats will not have 2/3rds of the votes in the house and Trump can/will/would veto them from his throne, but it will be absolute potential turmoil, and chaos.

Trump has never been much of a stock market investor , so I w I’ll take the doubling of assets with a grain of salt . You know of course democrats always blame republicans for doing what they are . Look to Obama and Biden and how much they amassed during their presidencies . And you brought up Pelosi .
