The Clinton supporters, and the ones who are for the most part white, are totally out to lunch with no hope of stopping the current march to the White House
People should be happy Obama is behind, he wants to build a slow and steady majority and after Labour Day, I think McCain will fade away into history. In addition it is still likely and possibel the Democrats will win the biggest majority overall in the Senate and Congress since, Lyndon Johnson in1964

Aaha... I see you know your politics!;-) Glad to have your input. But I'd like to give Zzarchov credit for a good point. He is damn right, one doesn't have to vote for the guy of one's party, if the opposition has an overall better candidate. Exellente! Democracy in operation! I only wish there was a third party, the kind Martin Luther King had on the go.

Side note:

If Clinton thinks McCain is legitimately a better candidate than Obama
Why the hell should he support Obama, just because they are in the same party?
He doesn't think that, he and hilliary needed some time to unwind from the frenzy
of a primary campaign they ran, after all she did get 18 million votes, so she did very
well, and came oh so close, so it isn't easy to 'just' walk away. I am an Obama supporter
but I do understand that, it is human nature, and many millions of dollars.


Thats part of the problem in the US system in the first place. Its like when McCain and Bush try and act all buddy buddy because they are in the same party, they don't agree with each other on 70% of the issues and they hate each others guts, why should they endorse each other?
Because their parties come before 'them'.



So, seeing as the Clintons and their supporters agree with McCain (real McCain not pandering to republican base during election year McCain) over Obama... Why shouldn't they support the Candidate they agree with over the candidate with the same colour tie?
a)because Mccain isn't that 'guy' any more and b)Because their party comes before 'them.

Im not saying Obama wouldn't be a better president, Im just saying its undemocratic to force you to vote for people you don't agree with because "they are your team

In a democracy you are not forced to do 'anything', it is your own loyalty.

The whole point of having an election is to elect someone not based upon loyalty but upon whom you think will do the best job to lead the country.

That does not mean signing up to red team blue team and voting blindly regardless of who goes up on the ticket.

Well, Hitler and his potted plant aside:roll: :lol:.... I think we all can relax now. Obama has been officially declared the Democrats' Presidential Candidate!! And to everybody's relief, Bill Clinton has endorsed him with conviction and praise. Phew! Now all seems to be well... not a word about improper citizenship. Have we been had?

Tonight is Obama's turn for his acceptance speech, almost coinciding with the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech decades ago. What a great history for the Americans!
