Manchester rock giants Oasis look set to announce a comeback.

Oasis, who have sold 75 million albums and are headed by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher split in 2009 after almost 30 years together.

Yesterday, seconds after Stockport, Greater Manchester, band Blossoms' headline set at Wythenshawe Park drew to a close with their hit 'Charlemagne', a ten-second clip seemingly teasing the much-speculated Oasis reunion was played on the screen.

Stockport lads Blossoms wowed a 30,000-strong crowd at Wythenshawe Park last night, with support from The Guestlist, Terraces, Seb Lowe, The K’s, Shed Seven and Inhaler.

Indicating that something was coming, two songs before the end of their set they played Oasis's 'Half The World Away'.

Immediately after the show a short but sweet teaser video showed '27/8/24' written in the Oasis branding.

They are back: Oasis announce their reunion

960x0.jpg

Manchester Britpop giants Oasis - who have sold over 75 million records worldwide - have reformed 15 years after breaking up and will go on a UK and Ireland tour in 2025.

The band, renowned for hits such as "Wonderwall" and "Roll With It", were the frontrunners of the 1990s' Cool Britannia era.

Will it be just a tour or will they also make new music?

Oasis made a snide remark about INXS at some award show. INXS released this song "Elegantly Wasted". If you listen to the chorus it either says elegantly wasted or We're better than Oasis. Love it.

Oasis have issued a warning against people reselling tickets for their reunion tour at higher prices.

The newly reformed band wrote on X: "We have noticed people attempting to sell tickets on the secondary market since the start of the pre-sale. Please note, tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via @Ticketmaster and @Twickets."

The band added that tickets sold in breach of terms and conditions will be cancelled by the promoters.

It comes after fans were left fuming as tickets, bought by those who received early access codes in a pre-sale ballot, were being resold for more than £6,000.

You need to look back to the era...

In 1997 when the Australian band released that song they were seen as being Eighties and outdated, whereas Oasis were seen as being Nineties and trendy and modern and contemporary. It was a desperate and panicky move by INXS, just before Hutchence committed suicide.

Oasis was already seen as overrated by the time they released that song. At least on this side of the pond.

I reckon it was Oasis and Bob Geldof who led to Hutchence doing himself him.

Who can remember when Hutchence presented a Brit Award to Oasis in 1996 and Oasis attacked him? He topped himself the year after.
