What would make the economy grow faster than it is now? Or more precisely, what would stimulate job growth better under Sarah Palin's plan (if she has one)?

As usual, Republicans are saying "vote for me" but are offering nothing in order to fix the mess they created under Bush whose tax cuts for the rich and corporate welfare screwed up everything.

Yes, but what do you have to offer nothing either. The republicans have nothing at this point, and the problem is that November 2nd is coming pretty fast.

The only thing the United States has to look forward to now is becoming another failed socialist experiment.

When Bush gave trillions in corporate welfare to the wealthy none cried "socialism".

True enough. In the USA there is socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor.

That nation is so polarized, it looks bloody hopeless. Each side has too much money to giveaway that it doesn't have.

Socialism is as American as apple pie. The USA is a mixed economy with a strong public sector afterall. (The federal government IS the nation's largest employer.) At least since President John Adams had a single-payer health system for civilian sailors, at least.

That's all you whine about. There was no need to call it socialism because it was Corporate Welfare and your savoir Obama extended their benefits.

Economic Rebound!

Better days here? Economic rebound gains strength

News from The Associated Press

"
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Shoppers and businesses are feeling better about the recovery.
That was the encouraging message from a trio of economic reports Wednesday - and from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, who told lawmakers that the country's modest rebound is sustainable.
Retail spending rose sharply in March. Consumer inflation remained all but invisible. And businesses boosted their stockpiles in anticipation of higher shopper demand.
The improving economy also lifted first-quarter earnings at JPMorgan Chase & Co. That was the latest sign that the biggest banks are gradually putting the financial crisis behind them.
Bernanke spoke on the same day that the Fed reported the recovery is spreading to most parts of the country."

Tell me its good, I really need a good laugh. There are a lot of problems out there
that haven't even been addressed. Has anyone noticed, China has posted it first
trade deficit in years. That was on CNN and I believe the CBC last weekend. That
means the real truth is coming out in America. There has been reports of lower and
lower port traffic for over a year and a half. The surplus in the United States is used
up and they are buying less imports from China.
There are still hundreds of trillions of dollars in leveraged or derivative funds and if
there is a default by either government or corporations the entire system will simply
collapse. The Canadian dollar is rising don't you believe it, the American dollar is
falling like a stone losing several points. Looking at the articles such as Money News
and so on, the American Dollar could lose 20% of its value.
Like the Great Depression the economy faltered, rebounded faltered and into the
thirties 31 and 33 the worst years demonstrated trusting the word of the money
folks could lead to a lot of trouble. I don't believe the American problem is over
and we are not out of the woods either, everyone is going to a lot of trouble to
have you see green shoots.

If the economy in the US is improving why is it that the four strongest interior US economies are stll in the toilet? California is about to go under. New York, Illinois and Michigan are aklmost under and here in California our documented unemployment is in excess of 12%. That doesn't include another estimated 7% who are no longer receiving any benfits and are not being tracked. I still think this was a carefully engineered financial collapse and those who pulled it of were cast as persons trying to save the nation. GWB, Cheney, Paulson, Bernanke and others should be in jail for fraud and swindling. Geithner is an idiot who thinks he has the answers. He is a Intra Mural League caliber player trying to play in the big leagues and he too should be prosecuted for not being a registered member of the Screen Actors Guild. What a lop!

The New York Times headline was aimed at the 208 laid-off New York Times employees, who needed to be let go, because nobody reads that left-wing rag and no sober person would ever believe their polls.
