Yeah, they did 40 years ago, can't anymore............one serious heart attack and the gov't could be on the hook for $millions! Or any injury as far as that goes!

40 years ago in Ontario that was SOP but not for ages now.

I actually worked a fire in the early 70's where one of the conscripts (a young man) claimed heart pains and when the First Aid guy examined him they found he'd had heart surgery-he was gone in a flash/driven miles through the fire zone to his home town.

Today it would be a yell, 'Who wants a job??' and the place would still empty out.
