The oportunity must not be missed, we can build shoes and manufacture our own cloths and furniture and vehicles and we must have a national energy program but we do not need further integration with American unculture.
In any case fully half the Americans I read want a greatly expanded social safety net including universal medicare and free education anything less than that is nothing, so enjoy the revolution because it is coming, uncle sam already masses resources to crush it.

For sure. Canada needs to either re-negotiate NAFTA from free trade to fare trade or eliminate it.

Every Prime Minister of Canada before Mulroney said that reciprocity (free trade) could not work between Canada and the US because of American manufacturer's greater economy of scale (300 million trumps 30 million).
